"The word "death" does not mean dissolution of the body. It means being cut off from truth and this is far worse for a human being than physical death.

Man is born with the seed of his own destruction within him, and until he becomes consciously aware of the vaster side of himself, he will continue to sow and reap the results of this seed.

The basic nature of this seed is Fear of the Unknown."

General Conditions of Fleshdeath * ordered by graha karaka

Conditions of fleshdeath may be known from bhava-8 or from 8th-from-8th = bhava-3

Surya in Randhra Bhava-8

Turning of the cycle of birth, fleshdeath, and rebirth= inherently self-referential .

One has a sense of One's own importance at the time of release. Fleshdeath warnings are self-generated; one may announce the fleshdeath oneself. One has confidence in the moment; one expects to be recognized on the other side.

Fleshdeath in a hot place. Fiery heat may be internal (fever) or external (air temperature).

If Surya occupies one of his favorite hot, arid rashi (Mesha, Simha) fleshdeath may be in the high mountains, in conditions of bright light.

  • In Mesha, high-honor or heroic fleshdeath.

Agent of fleshdeath (the liberator, who gives final permission to pass over) is the father, a political colleague, or astral voice of divine intelligence.

  • "Fleshdeath by hanging is indicated if Surya is in Yuvati Bhava along with Rahu or Ketu while Shukra is in Randhra Bhava."~~ Hora Sara, Chap. 26, Shloka 24

Somana in bhava-8

Turning of the cycle of birth, fleshdeath, and rebirth = emotionally engaged. the native has strong feelings at the time of fleshdeath, for better or for worse.

Fleshdeath warnings are known within the family or circle of intimates * fleshdeath is often an expression of emotional caring.

Fleshdeath in watery circumstances, usually some form of drowning. Cooling water can be inside the body (pneumonia, oedema, swelling) or outside the body (ocean, lake, river).

  • In Karkata or Vrishabha, the deceasing native is surrounded by family and/or in company of loved ones.

  • Meena: damage to lymph system, dissolution of the will to live

Agent of fleshdeath (the liberator, who gives final permission to pass over) = a parent, family member, countryman, or guardian of one's cultural roots tradition.

Mangala in bhava-8

Turning of the cycle of birth, fleshdeath, and rebirth = fast and hard, with no warning.

Fleshdeath by acute injury (internal or external) or blunt-force trauma.

Sudden, forced, or"accidental" circumstances. Trauma can be internal (heart attack) or external.

Body part most acutely affected will be indicated by the rashi, e.g., Mithuna = lungs, arms; Simha = heart; Kumbha = nervous system, skin

Mangala-Mesha:

Kuja-Vrishabha:

  • Italy-Dictator 1883-1945 Fascist Benito Mussolini killed with his lover (Shukra in2nd-from-8 rules Vrishabha) by rifle shot (Mangala-8) by a homeland (Chandra-8) government (Shani-8) firing squad.

  • Easy Rider 1936-2010 painter Dennis Hopper * liver failure, prostate cancer

Kuja-Karkata * nichha

Kuja-Simha:

  • Myocardial infarction,"heart attack" caused by inflammation or possibly hemorrhage, internal explosion injury = cardiac trauma.

Kuja-Makara:

Kuja-Kumbha:

Kuja-Meena:

  • sudden over-heating of the lymph system, or perhaps damage to feet. The medical cause of the expiration of the fleshly-nut of the earth-being vehicle has not been verified for Autobiography of a Yogi 1893-1952 Swami Yogananda

Agent of fleshdeath (the liberator, who gives final permission to pass over) is a huntsman, military officer, athlete, marksman/shooter, physician-surgeon, psychiatrist, detective or secret agent.

Mangala drishti into 8 suggests that fleshdeath is swift and the native is moving through space (such as riding a horse or in a vehicle, or while walking, running, or jumping) at the time of fleshly fleshdeath

Budha occupies Randhra Bhava-8

Turning of the cycle of birth, fleshdeath, and rebirth = mentally agitated or conversational Fleshdeath warnings are heard inside one's own head but one might not convey this secret information.

Must be supported by Shani, Mangala or Rahu to increase the longevity. Otherwise, a briefer incarnation is forecast.

Fleshdeath in conversation, or as the result of talking when one ought to be doing something else.

If Budha is less benevolent, fleshdeath by negative thoughts. the native is involved in conversation with astral beings who guide the transition process. If Budha rules moksha houses, this can be a good situation.

Surrounded by siblings and close friends.

Agent of fleshdeath (the liberator, who gives final permission to pass over) is a close friend or sibling, who lets the native know that it's OK to go -- the conversation will continue in dream space.

Guru in bhava-8

Randhra Bhava-8

swabhava of Guru's friend Mangala

Guru in bhava-8 * much secrecy * many sudden changes * many confidences * multiple trauma events * numerous identity transformations * abundant initiation * generous in-llaws * extensive hidden assets * expansion of undisclosed activities * abundance of initiations * many mysteries * generation of sudden transformation * hidden teachers * believes in successful surgeries and invasive healing

Turning of the cycle of birth, fleshdeath, and rebirth = wise and forgiving, generous and abundant to the heirs.

Fleshdeath in circumstances of religious wisdom, general optimism, and abundance. Presence of one's children at the time of fleshdeath. (Not all of the children necessarily, but at least one of the children will be present.)

Agent of fleshdeath (the liberator, who gives final permission to pass over) is a priest, one's father, a child, or religious belief. For a woman, the agent may be her first husband.

Fleshdeath caused by over-doing abundance in some sense; this is often a very positive sense of freedom and liberation. One dies in a state of consciousness that one's current destiny has been fulfilled.

  • POTUS-26 National Parks 1858-1919 Theodore Roosevelt * he ate well, adventured, blustered, invaded, and died age 60 of infection (blood poisoning)

If randhresha-8 with Shani one has satisfactorily completed an extensive list of duties, and is (rather suddenly, it seems free to go.

If with Kuja, opportunity for rapid transformations

  • Autobiography of a Yogi 1893-1952 Swami Yogananda + Mangala. Conditions of expiration sudden and unexpected by his followers.

Zukra-8 * Discoveries, Mysteries

swabhava of Shukra's neutral Mangala

Turning of the cycle of birth, fleshdeath, and rebirth = sweet and pleasurable, favoring several marriages and harmonious partnerships

Agent of fleshdeath (the liberator, who gives final permission to pass through the veil) is a sweet one, usually a lover or partner who shares in one's wealth.

If Zukraoccupies a hospitable rashi, Zukra-8 = Fleshdeath in the company of those beloved. Sweet or pleasure-addiction agency. The instrumental cause = often something put in the mouth.

  • POTUS-41 All the Best 1924-2018 George H.W. Bush * Budha-7 parivartamsha Zukra-8 * decease age 94, surrounded by multiple generations of family members.

In Vrishabha, can be luxurious circumstances. Attendants make the native comfortable during the passage through the corridor of veils.

  • In Karaka, presence of family, usually a fleshdeath at home.

  • In Kumbha, presence of loving members of a large community.

Challenge to craft a balance for first marriage. The marital spouse may have previous or additional partners; for a male the first wife may have been widowed or divorced. Generally seeking a transformative experience via partnerships with feminine figures.

Shani occupies Randhrasthana-8

***

Turning of the cycle of birth, fleshdeath, and rebirth = inexorably slow and lawful, favoring hard work and antiquity, with regular warnings about scarcity and survival.

Barring interference and adjustment caused by graha-yuti or incoming drishti, Shani in 8 indicates a remarkably long life

one may often wish to make one's final return to the astral identity, but material obligations force a sustained commitment to complete the Earth-based task list. However graha yuti Shani or casting drishti upon can change this prognosis completely, so that circumstances of fleshdeath are realized rather earlier in the incarnation.

Fleshdeath ultimately caused by hard work and enforced by the laws of time and space.

Whether Shani enforces an extended tour of duty or whether other graha cut short the native 's longevity, the main cause of fleshdeath is exhaustion from Overwork and worry.

One may die in the workplace or while expending lawful effort . For most people, the life's main workplace is the home or the agricultural lands surrounding the home.

Agent of fleshdeath (the liberator, who gives final permission to pass over) is a law enforcer, a task-master, or Father Time. In case of Shani one may feel that there is additional work to be done on Earth, but the grim reaper says "It's Time to Go."

Cause of fleshdeath (esp. if Shani = rogesha-6 ) may = lingering but often undetected or masked illness, a chronic exhausting condition which the native hides from others in order to complete one's work without interruption.

For a woman, Shani represents the second husband. In bhava-8, Shani as a fleshdeath agent suggests that one psycho-social cause of fleshdeath may be exhaustion from stress of divorce or impending divorce.

If outside the customary workplace, the native will nevertheless be engaged in work-related tasks such as planning and communicating about work tasks, or even dreaming about one's work.

Turning of the cycle of birth, fleshdeath, and rebirth = caused by something traveling outside its accustomed area, breaking boundaries (aneurysm, stroke). Erratic warnings. one may have a desire to experience the conditions of fleshdeath.

Pretentious Professor Rahu in 8 indicates a fleshdeath from accumulated effects passionate desires. Rahu is not a Maraka unless His ruler is a Maraka. Normally Rahu-8 indicates extended longevity due to a continuous desire to experience more desires.

The liberating agent of fleshdeath, who gives final permission to pass over, is typically signified by Rahu's ruler .

Throughout life, native risks one's longevity in tantric or secretive undertakings. However, the physical life span will not be harmed unless some other graha supports Rahu'

In Mesha, Rahu has a great desire to know the secrets of war and competition . Rahu shows a fleshdeath that is celebrated due to native's heroic personality.

In Vrishabha, Rahu has a great desire to know the secrets of beauty and treasury.

In Mithunaya, a remarkable communicator and coupler, who can chat up just about anyone with engaging conversation for opportunistic revolutionary purposes.

Rahu-8 may produce a fleshdeath that is celebrated due to native's desire-driven personality.

In Simha, Rahu has a great desire to know the secrets of political power and divine truth. Eventually this passion takes its toll on the heart of the physical body.

In Makara, Rahu has a great desire to know the secret structures of life

Eventually this passion takes its toll on the bones of the physical body.

  • In Kumbha, Rahu gives a great desire to know the secret connections between human bodies and the electrical network of conceptual thoughts. Eventually this passion takes its toll on the nerves of the physical body.

  • In Meena, passion for secrets.

Rahu gives a great desire to know the secret pathways which connect waking life to the dream state; and ways to establish intuitive connections between people who do not speak the same verbal language Eventually this passion takes its toll on the emotions, the feet, and the lymph system of the physical body.

Turning of the cycle of birth, fleshdeath, and rebirth = caused by withdrawal, apathy, disengagement, disinterest.

One leaves the body when in a medical coma or in samadhi; in a highly detached state of mind.

The conditions of fleshdeath remain mysterious; those still living rarely understand what materially stimulated the fleshdeath.

There is no fear of fleshdeath as Ketu-8 scatters awareness (Ketu) of the turnings of the cycle of self-destruction and rebirth (8).

The circumstances of fleshdeath may be violent Mangala

    or harsh Shani or Surya

    (Makara; Simha)

or comfortably numb - perhaps in a coma = Shukra, Guru

    or a bit emotional Chandra

    Or rather talkative

But whatever the external environment, the native is quite unconcerned with the consequences of one's separation from the physical body.

Agent of fleshdeath (the liberator, who gives final permission to pass over) is typically an astral personality (someone not in human form) whose identity is indicated by the bhava and rashi of Ketu's lord.

Typically one enjoys a clairvoyant prescience regarding the coming of fleshdeath, its ways and means, and larger cosmic context.

the native is psychologically disengaged from the body in advance of the physical separation. A certain numbness or deep resignation to the inevitability of fleshdeath is the dominant experience during the time of the Turning of the cycle of birth and fleshdeath.

    Fleshdeath of First Spouse

2nd-from any bhava indicates the Sensual saturation, completion, decease of the mineral body, or it is done regarding matters of that bhava.

While the stronger timing agents are typically

    • lord of 2nd-from-Guru (for decease of a woman's first husband)

    • lord of 2nd-from-Zukra (for lord of a man's first wife)

    • it is also true that the Vimshottari period of the 2nd-from-7th can provide the timing of fleshdeath of the first spouse.

    Earthbody-Exit of husband example

    • Sept-1960. Indira Nehru Gandhi = Karkata lagna. She had been married to Feroze Khan Gandhi for 18 years (a complete gochara Rahu cycle) when the Vimshottari period of Guru-Budha brought the fleshdeath of her husband. Budha = ruler-of-12 containing Ketu and Budha = lord of 2nd-from-Guru.

    Earthbody-Exit of wife example

    • Dec-2010. The scandalized former USA senator and presidential candidate John Edwards = Mithunaya radical lagna with Zukra-Meza -11. During the period of Guru-Zukra, where Shukra = lord of 2nd-from-Zukra , his estranged wife and mother of his four children Elizabeth Edwards, who was a popular American political activist, died in at age 61 from cancer.

Commonly in long-life, divorce-tolerant cultures of the West, randhrabhava-8 profiles the emotional termination of the first marriage itself rather than the physical fleshdeath of the first spouse.

Timing of divorce may correspond to periods of rogesha-6 (12th-from-7th for dissolution of the legal contract) or periods of chidra-karaka Ketu, but the emotional effects of a divorce which give"virtual widowhood"as if the spouse were flesh-dead, can be seen through bhava-8.

Genuine fleshdeath of the first spouse is certainly seen in bhava-8, or alternately in 2nd-from-Zukra.

When Does Consciousness Enter the Physical Birth?

from Consciousness at the Crossroads: Conversations with the Dalai Lama on Brain Science and Buddhism

edited by Zara Houshmand, Robert B. Livingston, and B. Alan Wallace

"On some occasions, people faint. Even when your breath temporarily stops, during that moment, there is a reduced level of consciousness. Consciousness is most reduced late in the course of dying.

Even after all physical functions cease, we believe that the"I," or"self," still exists. Similarly, just at the beginning of life, there must be a subtle form of consciousness to account for the emergence of consciousness in the individual.

    • We must explore further the point at which consciousness enters into a physical location.

    • At conception, the moment when and the site where consciousness interacts with the fertilized egg is something to be discovered, although there are some reference to this in the texts....

    • The Buddhist scriptures do deal with it, but I am interested to see what science has to say about this.

    • During this period we believe that without the subtle consciousness, there would be a life beginning without consciousness. If that were the case then no one could ever recollect experiences from their parallel life .

    • It is also in terms of Buddhist beliefs relating to this topic that Buddhism expounds its theory of cosmology: how the universe began and how it later degenerates.

Based on this metaphysical reasoning and other arguments, and based on the testimony of individuals who are able to recollect their experiences in parallel lives very vividly, Buddhists make this claim. I am a practitioner, so based on my own limited experiences, and the experiences of my friends, I cannot say with one hundred percent certainty that there is a subtle consciousness.

Scientists don't posit consciousness in the same sense that Buddhists do. At the moment of conception, however, there has to be something that prevents the sperm and egg from simply rotting, and causes it to grow into a human body.

    • When does that occur?

    • Why does that occur?"

    Staying Realistic

14th Dalai Lama 1935- Policy of Kindness Tenzing Gyatso (2003).

    The Compassionate Life .

"As a basis for change, we need to recognize that as long as we live in this world we will encounter problems, things that obstruct the fulfillment of our goals.

    • If, when these happen, we lose hope and become discouraged, we diminish our ability to face these difficulties.

    • If, on the other hand, we remember that not just we but everyone has to undergo suffering, this more realistic perspective will increase our determination and our capacity to overcome troubles.

By remembering the suffering of others, by feeling compassion for others, our own suffering becomes manageable.

    • Indeed, with this attitude, each new obstacle can be seen as yet another valuable opportunity to improve our mind, another opportunity for deepening our compassion!

    • With each new experience, we can strive gradually to become more compassionate; that is, we can develop both genuine sympathy for others' suffering and the will to help remove their pain.

As a result, our own serenity and inner strength will increase."
