Tula = the balance, the weight, to be equal Surya-Vanika [nīcha] * bright center of diplomacy and grace / I am / self-centric identity formed by thought-streams emitting from The Series of Suns / I am / a Balancer, Negotiator, Arranger, Match-Maker, Broker, middleman-meddler, Bargainer, Diplomat, Go-Between. One's natural genius seeks to be in the center of bargaining, alliance-building, match-making, and balancing activities. However, Surya-Tula is considered to be nichhamza because Surya in the harmonizing, justice-seeking, equity oriented rashi of Tula puts individualistic, radiantly confident, self-focused, unique Surya into an awkward two-part environment. When uncomfortably placed, Surya-Tula may signal a certain amount of contractual conceit. One may radiate the " right harmony" . As Surya dramatizes first one side of an issue, then another, the results is often hypocrisy and inconsistency in the Surya-type iconic roles. Surya the Divine Self feels too much pressure to compromise His authenticity when trapped in the realm of His enemy Shukra the Human Harmonizer. One may exemplify [Surya] balance and equitable arrangements, Yet, the result often produces unintended or unpopular consequences.
Surya's ego-membrane expression depends on character of aesthetic, pleasure-loving Shukra .
Associated with the lessons of jealousy . Unless Ravi is rescued through [nīcha-bhanga] , one may be blamed for moral incompetence, lack of leadership capability, and pursuing sensuality when ethical integrity was needed. When reversed through [nīcha-bhanga] Tula-Surya may be capable of royal radiance and celebrity intelligence for gaming and entertainments.
Exchange-of-signs with Shukra often signal ingratiating behaviors
Encouragement and willpower may be at their lowest point. One radiates confidence in matters of balance and good design. Appreciates (Shukra, price) the need for individual self interest [Surya] to be included in the design of harmonious partnerships. Visible public behavior psychologically driven by childhood memories of weighing and balancing, praise for losing one's identity through peace-making, and absorbing the cost of compromise . Surya's nature is self-defined and confidently independent; while Shukra requires coordination, sharing, and compromise. Does not seek core ego-membrane validation from the divine. Rather, one's self-confidence is chained to the constant flow of validation from relationship partners . Lack of clear inner sense of divine truth = absent the confidence compass = long-term moral uncertainty. If the partner is also uncertain, in love or business, one may flounder.
The native benefits from qualified moral guidance . Needs mentors, counselors, and ideally a confident spouser. If Surya-Tula is your employee, pair him/her in a supportive role with a more dominant-ego partner. Avoid exploitation, counsel toward teamwork and do not force Surya-Tula to make independent decisions. Provide abundant human approval for best results. The rashi of Surya's mutual enemy Shukra is a quite inhospitable place for Surya. Depending on Shukra's dignity, hiryanagarbha may suffer low self-esteem and/or an unbalanced ego . [nīcha-bhanga] potentials Shani-Tula [uchcha] yuti Surya-Vanika [nīcha] * in a kendra or a trine, produces surprisingly decisive, executive behaviors from the otherwise overly-agreement-seeking Surya-Tula. The strength of a Surya-Shani pair derives not from interior self-certainty (as for Surya-Simha ) but rather from extraordinary attention to justice and balance in human relationships. Tends to go along with others for the outer sake of harmony but for the inner reason of uncertainty with individuality. Independent, individualized choice-making is weakened in Surya-Tula. This form of executive intelligence can guide a large organization, through its deep awareness of the many individually balanced relationships which compose the total pyramid group. Admittedly, Surya-Tula does not know with certainty the true distinction between self-intelligence and the intelligence of others. Yet, Surya-Tula consults peers, holds meetings, and applies the principles of social justice to seek a just decision.
Success from brilliant designs, sense of justice, and willingness to share credit and ask for advice. Surya-nicha-5 rules business-3
Surya-Tula = ability to compromise and get along with people. Agreeable, flexible, non-confrontational . Will compromise extensively in order to achieve harmony. Succeeds when partnered with stronger egos.
Without [nīcha-bhanga] corrections, Surya-Tula ego-membrane may be too much accommodating and agreeable. Tends to be less independently competitive and more interested in making alliances. May be known for superior ability to create [Surya] useful partnerships. Alert to the expressions of the partners. Not an ego-focused leader and not entrepreneurial, yet a valuable and dedicated team-player. Inherent sense of balance point location can support collaborative leaders and professional negotiators. May mark a leader who can distribute power among rival stakeholders, such as famed bargain-broker, Liberia-Pres 1938- Ellen Johnson Sirleaf. Superb position for brokers, bargainers, arrangers, specialist in contracts. BPL commentary WRT Surya-10-Tula potential for [nīcha-bhanga] Despite His obvious ability to lead by radiant vision (vishnu) Ravi-10 in Tula [nīcha] is often reluctant to commit to organizational leadership roles due to weak confidence about credibility and credentialing. Professor Surya in bhava-10 has an autocratic and autonomous style, yet Surya-Tula adds a requirement to work for social justice causes. It becomes awkward for Surya who represents individual entitlements and radiant ego-centricity to assert an agenda of diplomatic balance and concern for equity in partnership. Educator Role Professor Surya-Tula teaching in the classroom of 4th-from-7th indicates an regulatory educator who may provide continuing professional education to advisers, counselors, balancers, deal-makers, bargainers, couples, diplomats, attorneys, and other workers who craft balanced partnerships and agreements. One often serves as an independent consultant to various government or institutional projects of a law-and-policy nature, establishing protocols, and regulating professional environments. However, unless Surya attains [nīcha-bhanga] there may be weakness caused by the very factor of concern for the well-being of others and diplomatic style that is less ego-centric. |

Surya-Vanika rashi creates a life-script element regarding the behavior of the father (or father-figure, who may be the grandfather or other dominant male). In particular according to Thula the Balancing Scales, the father-figure is concerned with receiving core validation through relationship partners. Uncorrected nichha Ravi pitrakaraka= generally uncomfortable for the Father suggesting his low entitlement to Surya-portfolio qualities such as personal confidence and creativity. Typically, he has low self-esteem, for which he may attempt to compensate (Tula, rebalancing) with promiscuity or other Shukra-driven pleasure-seeking behavior. The father may hold a social position such as attorney barrister broker trader deal-maker solicitor advocate who seeks balance and agreement on behalf of clients; with Shukra may be a fashion designer, artist or architect producing aesthetically balanced art. Dad could be successful as a broker, middleman-meddler, business consultant, marriage counselor or political advisor; or other negotiation, bargaining, or partnering role.
Material success for the Tula-Surya, affecting both the native and one' father, is much improved when Thula Surya enjoys a relationship with either Shukra or Shani - ideally, both. Note: Full profile of father = Surya-yuti-Guru + dharma bhava + dharmesha-9 + 9th-from-Chandra + pitri-karaka + D-12 |

Raja Yoga Bhanga 299 = Surya-Tula-10thDegree
QUOTATION from BV Raman, 300 Combinations Definition. 298.
299. Results.
Remarks. Both the above yogas are quite simple to understand and they need no explanation. Yoga No. 298 requires that Saturn should occupy a debilitated Navamsa in his exaltation sign, and the Lagna first pada of the constellation must be Leo. This means Saturn must occupy the first pada of the constellation of Visakha or Libra 20° to 23° 20'. As for Yoga No. 299, the Sun must be in deep debilitation. I am afraid, in the absence of other powerful arishtas, the mere debilitation of the Sun cannot destroy all the Raja Yogas and render the person unfortunate and miserable. |

QUOTATION Das commentary upon Surya-Tula " The Sun is fallen in this sign. This is not good for the things the Sun controls.
will live by selling gold and other metals,
doing others' jobs, extra marital affairs,
These negative effects may come and go at different times.
Nevertheless, this position gives you some of these challenges to overcome in this life." [end quote] | ||
