Just as Rahu the demi-god wanted desperately to sneak into the ranks of the immortal gods, and He would adopt any disguise to do so, Rahu in the nativity represents the desire to attain membership in an ultimate, exalted, pinnacle elite.

Rahu the Jyotisha Graha represents one who aims to pass as a member of an exotic collectivity or association (11) and thus to gain (11) privileges granted to this elite target groupr.

For His part, Ketu = uncaring and negligent within relationships to both human and non-human partners, often reluctant to undertake the Movement which Rahu demands in order to meet Rahu's urgent need for social visibility, promotion, and elevation.

The Rahu agent complains of feeling unsupported by an unresponsive Ketupartner . However, in the 6-12 axis, Ketu is ironically more materialized and the Rahu directors much wait for Ketu-6 to enter, and then break apart, various material business and personal alliance contracts, in order for the Rahu Other-guides to achieve their status acquisition goals.

Ketu-6 may remain significantly unconscious of these machinations. Yet, Jyotishavidya sees the ambitions of Rahu-12 as no less fervent despite the agent often lacking a material form.

Unfortunately, being apathetic careless and disregarding of the major problematics of human existence does not prevent these problematics from occurring. Ketu may haplessly engage in the company of criminals, asserting that nothing unfortunate may arise from such a choice of companions. Often, something quite unfortunate does arise, and the Ketu-6 native may find oneself in jail. Once in jail, the Ketu-6 native may assert that it is only for a short time, until the facts are revealed, then the Learner may be set free, and yet Ketu fragments His environment and in the environment of accusations even false ones, the Ketu-6 native may find oneself lacking a coherent identity and thus lumped in with all the other criminals.

Ketu disregards and dismisses, sometimes prematurely, the social and material rules of His environment.

Although Ketu = generally harmless in randhrasthāna-8 where disregard for the consequences of inescapable upheaval can be a survival device, allowing the native to survive even violent trauma, in bhava-6 the know nothing attitude of Ketu can bring on disease caused by disregard for physicians and poverty caused by disregard for loans.

As regards conflict caused by disregard for enemies, Ketu if related to any of the karaka for speech such as Budha or dhanapati-2 can land the native in the hospital after a beating caused by disregard for power of enemies which releases such provocative actions as insulting speech and gestures.

Papa-graha in dushthamsha while materially frustrating may give quite good spiritualresults.

Ketu improves over time, with maturity and tempered expectations, when residing in upachaya-amsha 3, 6, 11,


A natural challenger papagraha in a dushthamsha generally produces favorable results. Ketu yields best results in 3, 6, 11 . Bhava-6 = the least problematic location for Ketu.

Negative impact of Ketu-6 = mainly WRT being invisible or ignored by military, medical, and legal-conflict professionals. This is not a problem but rather a blessing for most people. Naturally, it could pose a problem for one seeking, via other graha, acareer in those service-leadership specialties. It is not a supportive placement for a physician who seeks professional recognition, but it is an excellent placement for a saint looking to offer a moment of compassion to the terminally ill (

Not an easy placement for one with business interests in restaurant, hotel, military, or medical industries.

Ketu gives Doubt and Disconnection in matters of police, illness, criminalization / crime, drugs, and social conflict. Life is easier with some detachment from the classic evils of bhava-6. One downside = Ketu-6 could become a crime victim thought inattentiveness, not taking seriously the enthusiasm of criminals for their work!

However, this placement can be harmful if the disconnected, disenchanted behaviors of Ketu are added to the influence of another graha in the same bhava then illness through inattention to the health signals may result.

Despite the material reality of conflict in one's social relationships, Ketu-6 can passively reflect the 'acceptance of the human condition' image of the psychic projections of the collective unconscious.

The problem, if there really = problem with Ketu/6, = Shri Ketu provides no boundaries in one's relationship to members of The Victim Class.
