Collapsing Ketu brings benefits in 6, including a healthy disregard for enemies and diseases

Weak psychic boundaries create difficulty to achieve, obtain, maintain, or retain connection to

  • Enemies, poverty, conflict, war, fighting

  • disease, addictions, slavery, servitude, exploitation

  • medicine, drugs, physicians, toxicity, pollution

  • divorce, disagreement, victims, criminals, crime

  • argumentation, accusations, litigation, loss of lawsuit

  • mother's relatives, children's wealth, partner's long absence

Collapsing Ketu -6 is careless about crime, servitude, illegal drugs, prescribed medications, physicians, pharmacists, loans and usury, divorce, war, social conflict, litigation, pollution, toxicity, disease vectors, exploitation, and all of the sufferings of the satkona.

Unfortunately, being apathetic careless and disregarding of the major problematics of human existence does not prevent these problematics from occurring. Ketu may haplessly engage in the company of criminals, asserting that nothing unfortunate may arise from such a choice of companions. Often, something quite unfortunate does arise, and the Ketu-6 native may find oneself in jail. Once in jail, the Ketu-6 native may assert that it is only for a short time, until the facts are revealed, then one will be set free, and yet Ketu fragments His environment and in the environment of accusations even false ones, the Ketu-6 native may find oneself lacking a coherent identity and thus lumped in with all the other criminals.

Ketu disregards and dismisses, sometimes prematurely, the social and material rules of His environment.

Although Ketu is generally harmless in randhrasthana-8 where disregard for the consequences of inescapable upheaval can be a survival device, allowing the native to survive even violent trauma, in bhava-6 the know nothing attitude of Ketu can bring on disease caused by disregard for physicians and poverty caused by disregard for loans.

As regards conflict caused by disregard for enemies, Ketu if related to any of the karaka for speech such as Budha or dhanapati-2 can land the native in the hospital after a beating caused by disregard for power of enemies which releases such provocative actions as insulting speech and gestures.

Therefore, Ketu-6 can get the native into all sorts of polarizing catalysis, albeit once in polarizing catalysis the native tends not to worry as the disregard for consequences is often a short-term stress reliever. Ketu-6 is not protective in any way.

Viparita Yoga Relief

However, if any of the Viparita Yoga pairs = either Harsha yoga rogesha-6 in 8 or [Sarala Yoga] randhresha-8 in 6 or [Vimala Yoga] ruler-of-12 in 6 = might apply, then relief from extreme consequences will occur.

  • rogesha-6 in 8 removes debt and causes enemies to undergo rapid upheaval which disorients them.

  • randhresha-8 in 6 has a similar effect, bringing the churning power of catastrophic randhresha-8 into the argumentative, accusatory satkona

  • ruler-of-12 in 6 confuses the enemies, diseases, usurers, and enslavers, blurring social boundaries thus avoiding war (within the body or outside of it).

However, rogesha-6 in 6 provides no relief in fact rogesha-6 in bhava-6 intensifies the enslavement, making the ministry of service urgently necessary to escape the humiliation and disease which often attends a strong rogesha-6 .

Ketu in Bhava-6 = busts-up, scatters disease, divorce, disagreement, and distrust; disperses debt and conflict; eliminates accusations and contentious litigation; conventional social restrictions on medical, ministerial, and military roles.

Relationship Agency

  • the mother's relatives are often peculiar people

  • Often a younger brother or sister of the mother is particularly eccentric. If Ketu's lord is benefic, their eccentricity can be beneficial to the native.

  • If Viparita Harsha Yoga applies, Ketu-6 negative potential is cancelled and all agents of 6 - including mother's relatives, servants, usurers, domestic animals, exploiters, military, physicians, and even criminals - may become either neutral or positive in effect.

Ketu diffuses, scatters, nebulizes matters of His residential bhava.

Professor Ketu teaches on the topics of liberation from fixed form, freedom from conventional limitations, dispersal of burdens, and spiritual wandering.

Effects of Ketu include wandering in cloud-form (nebula) and unsettled, liberated behavior in the bhava.

Ketu grants the passive benefits of freedom-from, not the active benefits of freedom-to

Ketu in Bhava-6 [beneficial] anabolism, analysis.

  • Unsettled, disoriented, free-wandering, scattered conflicts.
  • Often dissociated from the physicians.
  • Tends to walk away from fixed accusations.
  • Abandons conventional medical treatment.
  • Disregard for the authority structures that maintain slavery, poverty, and pollution.
  • Liberation via understanding that animosity is impermanent by design, including one's own grievances, resentments, betrayals.

Ketu in bhava-6 always = Rahu in bhava- 12

Disregard for servitude, exploitation, relationships in a state of imbalance-seeking-a-remedy. Can work with criminals and in corrupt environments without needing to try to correct imbalances and without being corrupted oneself.

  • Memories Dreams Reflections 1875-1961 Carl Jung descended from many generations of psychically attuned healers, although he developed this vidya in an ingeniously modern literary and scientific style. As a physician (6) Jung was unconcerned with criticism (6). He had the theories and the data to legitimate the new practice of psychotherapy, and he forged ahead regardless of animosity from Sigmund Freud and other adversaries.

Ungrounded or eccentric understanding of medicine.

However Ketu-6 is not bad for professional physicians. Rather, the native must permit a higher than normal level of psychic intuition and a permanent practice of ministry of service.

Scattered service offerings; wandering arguments.

  • Cut off from servants, conventional physicians, accusations of victims, narratives of exploitation, war and interpersonal conflicts.

Lack of concern with accusations and disengagement from divorce. Untouched by litigation. Often indicates a lifelong tolerance for marital conflict with no divorce,

Significant involvement with war However, no

Ketu in lagna = whether male or female or somewhere in-between, one is often defined by :

  • a charismatic validation -hungry Rahu type person (or persons) who operates behind the scenes , in seclusion , or in a distant land .

The sequestered personality who is directing things can also be a spirit guide or a group of disembodied guides (12).

It is not necessary to even be aware of the influence of one's guides, although generally one enjoys instructive dreams and flashes of intuition when Rahu occupies 12 so that the timing of events seems "guided by a distant hand".

  • The Rahu-Other craves elite status recognition and privileged entry into exotic groups.

  • Yet, the Ketu native feels an incurable apathy toward Rahu's adventures.

The Ketu native may appear disinterested and dissociated toward even the most socially grand and spectacular wars (6) bankruptcies (6) or medical ailments (6).

Ketu-6 tends to disregard one's enemies - which sounds like a spiritual advantage and often is. Yet, the sometimes cavalier dismissals of Ketu-6 can become a fatal mistake if rogesha-6 is strong.

The behind-the-scenes manipulators and guides are often from a different social class or background. They are self-elevating (even self-catapulting) and notably ambitious.

Just as Rahu the demi-god wanted desperately to sneak into the ranks of the immortal gods, and He would adopt any disguise to do so, Rahu in the nativity represents the desire to attain membership in an ultimate, exalted, pinnacle elite.

Rahu the Jyotisha Graha represents one who aims to pass as a member of an exotic collectivity or association (11) and thus to gain (11) privileges granted to this elite target group.

The Other-guides [Rahu] wants to take risks, have grand adventures, and shoot for high goals.

The Other-guides [Rahu] = passionate about life and quick-uncoiling but Ketu-6 [Ketu] = apathetic about life and statically ambivalent toward movement. If Ketu moves at all, He is reluctant and slow.

The Other-guides [Rahu] = expedient, materialistic, and Goal-Oriented. (Rahu = co-lord of Kumbha-11 = goals and achievements)

[Rahu] desires to charm, pander, poach and seduce one's way into a higher social station through clever marriages and exciting sexual liaisons;

Collapsing Ketu -6 [Ketu] = disinterested in mating behaviors and generally ambivalent - sometimes even repulsed by - toward matters of the Flesh .

  • A Ketu-6 native may appear to be the victim of an urgently self-elevating, fraudulent, trickster, deceitful, unfaithful, or self-serving Other-guide.

  • But the old adage applies: there are no victims.

  • Apathetic Ketu will not complain; Rahu promotes Ketu-6 from unseen quarters.

  • Wealth or poverty, fame or ignominy, profit or loss -- the Ketu native simply walks through the roles provided at birth, counting the days toward final liberation.

The Other-guides [Rahu] wants to experience a sudden, exhilarating trajectory from the station of one's birth to a measurably more valuable position. Ketu-6 [Ketu] seeks no weight, no value, no validation.Ketudoes not care about station, location, position, valuation, or recognition.

The Other-guides [Rahu] = boastful and possibly deceitful. Rahu = an expedient agent in contractual agreements and often His true motives are cleverly disguised .

For His part, Ketu = uncaring and negligent in relationships to both human and non-human partners, often reluctant to undertake the Movement which Rahu demands in order to meet Rahu's urgent need for social visibility, promotion, and elevation.

The Rahu agent complains of feeling unsupported by an unresponsiveKetupartner . However, in the 6-12 axis, Ketu is ironically more materialized and the Rahu directors much wait for Ketu-6 to enter, and then break apart, various material business and personal alliance contracts, in order for the Rahu Other-guides to achieve their status acquisition goals.

Ketu-6 may remain significantly unconscious of these machinations. Yet, Jyotishavidya sees the ambitions of Rahu-12 as no less fervent despite the agent often lacking a material form.

If Rahu-12 has a material form at all, it will be located in a geographically distant land or distinctively different cultural region.

Rahu in 12 greatly energizes the bedroom (12) activities and facilitates quick acquisitions of great lands and territories, often apparently empty, although these empty places are not empty at all but rather densely populated with spirit forms.

Ketu-6 may spend a great deal of reflective, meditative time in (apparently empty) deserts or waste-lands; these are locations where the spirit forms gather because where the embodied cannot nourish themselves thus they do not gather there, the spirit-forms do not have to compete with the energy fields of humans and animals.

Ketu-6 = Psychological expectation of abandonment and rejection by one's mother's relatives, by physicians and the medical professional establishment including purveyors of drugs, by exploiters, by servants, by domestic animals, by soldiers and warmongers, by the children of one's second spouse from their previous marriage (5th from 2nd).

Tends to surrender or give away the contents of satkona, including the fortunes (5) from one's historic family (2).

  • Dissatisfied with workplace conditions, employee performance, servants, slaves, underlings, service animals

6 = 9th from 10th and 10th from 9th . One generally rejects professions (10) based in religious orthodoxy or university levels of philosophical knowledge (9). Ketu-6 will not intentionally become a public icon of religious dogma; However, if rogesha-6 is strong enough one may be involuntarily characterized as a figurehead (10) of institutional religion.

  • a quiet Cistercian monk with zero political aspirations, Thomas Merton certainly possessed a detailed knowledge of religious catechism. However, Merton espoused a universalistic meditative perspective which respected no ecclesiastical boundaries; he did not discuss points of doctrine during his many public appearances to promote the Inner Life (12. Merton's vyaya bhava contained Rahu + [Guru-yuti-Budha] in universalistic Kumbha.)

The servants =Ketu-ish, peculiar, detached, eccentric, odd. Best results occur with drishti from Ketu's lord - gives the power to move forward even with odd or dysfunctional employees. Without the drishti of Ketu's lord into 6, one may be buffeted by the winds of other people's dysfunctional, distrusting, disagreeable agendas.

May apprehend the workplace as a // mirage // .

May ignore employees' complaints, ignore toxic or unfair conditions, ignore sickness one's own and others. If too much negligence and a toxic situation is disregarded for too long, there may be legal consequences.

disconnecting from those below one, from criminals, from exploiters - but they seem to come back because boundaries are too permeable . Purges one dissatisfying low-life relationships after the next.

One may However, in one's neutrality toward crime and apparent acceptance of the realities of exploitation and even violence, become an unwitting agent of illicit lifestyles. The Ketu may be an enabler for all sorts of disordered behaviors of pathologically sick people.

Extraordinary ability to reflect the aspirations and psychic projections of the lower classes of humans and all classes of animals. Usually there is some interference from drug-abusers or other persons who suffer from poor psychic boundaries.

Ability to apprehend in the witness mode, the realities of exploitation, conflict, violence, toxicity, and every variety of imbalance-seeking-a-remedy. supportive position for police and military who must deal with suffering and abuse every day. Provides a professionalized neutrality to the great sorrows of human life.

Potential for damage to the digestive system especially the intestines via accident or injury when Ketu the Undefended receives malefic drishti which signals a ghostly attack.

May have polarizing catalysis respecting the boundaries of others especially criminals or military enemies. Good for soldiers and law enforcement.

Dissatisfaction, ambivalence and uncertainty regarding the privilege to conduct illegal or immoral (12th from 7th) actions.

Resistance to ego-validation from the lower classes.

Ketu in bhava 6

Rahu in bhava 12

chidrakaraka Ketu=

  • Ambivalence toward medicine, war, conflict, poverty, pollution, debt, infidelity, crime. Scattered and often ineffectual attempts to render a ministry of service.

  • Lacks protective boundaries against lower consciousness agents, service class, criminals. However, while freely consorting in exploitive environments, is not a victim.

chalakaraka Rahu =

  • Ambition to obtain the privileges accorded to important figures in clandestine operations, or those who power is known only behind closed doors or in distant lands .

Gifted in providing uplifting service to poor, sick, wounded, alienated, disenfranchised, and other victims of internal argumentation.

Yet one does not identify with the victim class, is not much involved in master-slave dynamics, and one is not obliged to serve.

Ketu in 6 = Long-term social-material success is inhibited by doubt re: one's ability to connect with

  • aunts and uncles, physicians, medicines, the deeply conflicted, the exploited, the suffering, the sick, the poor

Collapsing Ketu in 6, 8, or 12 gives the"teflon"advantage - dushthamsha effects "slip off" of Ketu-6 's consciousness.

Ketu-6 feels apathetic or detached from the reality of social conflict , not sensitive to the experience of domesticated animals, house pets, neither can one comprehend the needs and feelings of slaves, servants, servitude, beasts of burden, medicines, physicians, police, criminals, social workers, nurses, medical clinics, fines and penalties, enemies, stepchildren from second lifepartnership, war, military, debt, bank loans, financing, trade loans, prostitution, drug trade, poisons.

the result = minimized awareness of debt, conflict, and exploitation in life, along with reduced compassion toward those for whom these great negativities are real and extremely oppressive experiences. Ketu-6 may be a bit of a Pollyanna, but one will have few enemies.

  • Neglects : enemies, conflicts, disease, loans, imbalances, crime, social workers, prostitutes, criminal class, underclass, medicines, clinics, medical practitioners

Ketu is Apathetic toward the miseries of this world. One may admit the existence of polarizing catalysiss in one's own life or the lives of others, without becoming overly engaged in the struggle to define or eliminate the great social ills. Inequity is there, but Ketu does not care.

Ketu-6 treats everyone as his servants, no matter his station in life. This is no grand or glorious self-elevation, but rather a fundamental disregard for boundaries between servant and served.

Collapsing Ketu -6 with Ketu in bhava-6 can psychically detect one who lacks confidence or displays weakness, and bring that person into his own service rather quickly.

hus Ketu in bhava-6 is often a sign of success; one has a curious ability to understand the needs of the mentally enslaved masses, and simply gives them what they are psychically asking for: some new drug, or delusion, or some new confirmation of the narrative of servitude.

Bhukti of Ketuva may bring divorce and dissolution of agreements. Having no particular ax to grind, Ketu-6 rather quickly moves on.

One may feel victimized or wronged by hermits, yogis, beggars and wanderers; by meditation and practices which cultivate intentional detachment, by denizens of other worlds, by ghostly apparitions, by persons met in dreams and through psychic apprehension , by sudden loss of interest, and those who (unsolicited) lift the veil of illusion.

May misappropriate the property of ghosts and saints. (However, ghosts and saints do not care about their properties, Therefore, Ketu in 6 is hardly harmful.) Association with pilgrims and wanderers.

bhava-6 = loss of balance = enemies, disease, drugs, loans, foreign trade, servants, animals, thieves and crime

Papa-graha in dushthamsha while materially frustrating will often give quite good spiritual results.

Ketu gives best effect in 3, 6, 11,

A natural challenger papagraha in a dushthamsha generally gives good-to-neutral results. Ketu yields best results in 3, 6, 11 . Bhava-6 = the least problematic location for Ketu.

Negative impact of Ketu-6 = mainly WRT being invisible or ignored by military, medical, and legal-conflict professionals. This is not a problem but rather a blessing for most people. Naturally, it could pose a problem for one seeking, via other graha, a career in those service-leadership specialties. It is not a supportive placement for a physician who seeks professional recognition, but it is an excellent placement for a saint looking to offer a moment of compassion to the terminally ill (

Not an easy placement for one with business interests in restaurant, hotel, military, or medical industries.

Ketu gives Doubt and Disconnection in matters of police, illness, crime, drugs, and social conflict. Life is easier with some detachment from the classic evils of bhava-6. One downside = Ketu-6 could become a crime victim thought inattentiveness, not taking seriously the enthusiasm of criminals for their work!

Ketu in bhava-6 is a neutral placementper se, tending in its own peculiar way toward unburdenment/enlightenment toward the unachievable.

  • Spiritual prognosis for surrender (after much frustration) = excellent.

However, this placement can be harmful if the disconnected, disenchanted behaviors of Ketu are added to the influence of another graha in the same bhava then illness through inattention to the health signals may result.

Despite the material reality of conflict in one's social relationships, Ketu-6 can passively reflect the 'acceptance of the human condition' image of the psychic projections of the collective unconscious.

The problem, if there really is a problem with Ketu/6, = Shri Ketu provides no boundaries in one's relationship to members of The Victim Class.

  • One lacks the instinct, and actually the ability, to prevent contact with the type of person whose bad luck (6) is very much the product of their own choices (conscious or unconscious).

  • Thus addicts, refugees, prostitutes, the chronically battered, loan sharks, and exploiters and their victims of every variety are free to enter the and exit Ketu-6 's life at any time.

  • There is openness to exploitive lifestyles, and acceptance of war, slavery, and crime, even while Ketu-6 oneself is neither criminal nor police.

"No barriers " Ketu connects Ketu-6 to the experiences of Ketu's house through direct intuition .

  • No analysis, no cultural filters.

  • bhava-6 is concerned with animosity, loss of balance, poverty, exploitation, and disease - and on the positive side, with the practice of medicine and human service ministries.

  • Certain rashi tend more toward mental illness, others toward physical illness (but of course the two are tightly intertwined).

  • Surrender to the imbalance-seeking-a-remedy, will not fight to correct the problems of life.

Despite service, one may become outcast, adopt a servant role, marginalized by the medical, hospitality, or military establishments.

May signify a great philosopher, whose daily suffering yet detachment from it provide a realistic perspective for the development of genuine wisdom.

One longs for exploitative power and access to drugs, but cannot sustain an ego-connection to it.

If Ketu's lord is strong, there are underworld connections to prostitution, drugs and usury. Yet Ketu-6 may feel insecure and dissatisfied with these criminal behaviors.

Despite the ease of attainment, one is increasingly disinterested in human trafficking and exploitation.

Dissatisfaction, ambivalence and uncertainty regarding the privilege to express conflict through medical, prosecutorial, and criminal behaviors. Depending on Ketu's lord, Ketu-6 may have argumentative skills or ability to obtain many servants -- but one feels detached from their value.

Peculiarities of the digestive system . Must take care to protect the intestines from psychic incursion of grief, due to an effable sense of loss .

Resistance to validation through military, medical or legal service professions; mother's siblings , pets, physicians, soldiers, and servants seem distant and unconnected to one's essential self.

Marriage Contract

impact of malefic graha in the disagreeable 12th-from-7th

bhava-6 = 12th dissolution -from-7th trust. Ari bhava = infidelity to the marriage contract, breaking the marriage trust. Ketu = unattached.

Depending on Ketu's lord, habitual but disengaged infidelity can become a part of Ketu-6 's lifestyle after marriage. Other graha must motivate this activity, since Ketu is not self-motivating. However, if rogesha-6 indicates physical-sexual excess then Ketu will not prevent it and moreso Ketu will self-observe such a practice without judgment either celebratory or punitive.

Psychological expectation of abandonment and rejection by physicians and medicalists, by argument-makers and accusers, by criminals and exploiters, by servants and employees (Ketu = abandonment, chidrakaraka)

  • Disregards physicians and social workers; Apathetic toward bodily health.

  • Ignores logical arguments, disinterested in the victim-mind (6) narrative.

  • Uncaring and apathetic toward one's enemies.

Tends to surrender or give away one's medicines, arguments, servants.

  • Ignoring doctors and medical"treatments ", one tends to remain rather healthy. Ketu gives its best results in 6.

The enemies = Ketu-ish, peculiar, detached, eccentric, odd. Animosity seems like a delusion.

  • Feels that servitude, exploitation, litigation, poverty and disease are merely a mirage .

Vimshottari period s of Ketu

During Ketu bhukti of any mahadasha and acutely during the Ketu-Ketu svabhukti, one born with Ketu in ari bhava may have a hopeless feeling that certain matters have scattered in a pattern that is out of your control

  • matters of employees, servants, disenfranchised classes (6)

  • the mother's relatives (6)

  • broken contracts, disappointed expectations (6)

  • jealousy and gossip, argument and disagreement (6)

  • poverty, medicine and sickness (6)

Bhukti of Ketuva = notable for a disturbance of the professional life, often caused by the jealousy of co-workers and one's own disdain for the boss. Although often one is severed from the position held at the time, one recovers, and moves forward with a sense of relief of being inadvertently released from servitude.

This Ketu-Bhukti feeling of being a drifting spectator toward the conditions ripu-bhava within one's own life may be even more profound when either Chandra or the indriya-lagna occupy a Nakshatra of circuit-breaker Ketuva = Aśvini, Magha-Regulus, or Mula-Nirṛti.

Open to unbalanced relationships with persons from lower class backgrounds. One may experience confusion or disrespect for contractual promises but usually no entrapment by accusers.

Disengaged from medicines and toxins. and usurious loans, Typically, as an apathetic loan-holder or drug-taker.

Receives vague or misleading advice, in 12th (dissolution) from 7th (advice).

Retreats into self-medication out of despair.

Usually gains health, ironically, by keeping the doctor and lawyer away...

Can be a ticket into the underclass through poor association, trusting the wrong people.

Flawed judgment + Lack of discrimination in mani-money-lending, drugs/medicines, thievery. May be (in retrospect, completely avoidable) losses in law courts, Typically, Resulting from perverse choices like not appearing in court, or choosing to defend oneself without a qualified attorney.

Has polarizing catalysis understanding the immoral/indecent part of human nature; as a result, fails to take the usual precautions to defend against criminals, police, domestic animals, servants, those who act from the"more for me" reptile brain.

Dog bites, quack doctors, loan sharks, every style of exploitation and victim experience can find this person because their defensive aura shield is way too permeable.

QUOTATION Das commentary WRT Ketu in bhava-6

  • 3rd-from-4th = sale (3) of lands (4)

" ... affects the mental principle and enables you to develop the powers of abstract thinking.

Deeper levels of contemplation, often leading to the higher realms where one solves the abstruse problems of one's inner life, may result from such a combination.

Under this planetary influence you may achieve a remarkable conceptualization of abstract principles and a formulation of universal laws,

  • but the problems of life are likely to mar your thinking.

The final days are often sorrowful, full of physical suffering and a realization of the futility of human endeavor.

You experience enormous difficulties in life,

  • and considerable humiliation during major periods of your earthly existence.

Discomfiture and disillusionment through maternal uncle, destruction of enemies.

  • Land-related wealth, but a pauper anyway ."
