Young Samuel Hahnemann worked throughout his life as a written language translator of scientific and medical textbooks, using a variety of classical, ancient, and romance literary languages along with his native Saxon-German.

Although a qualified physician, he could not earn enough with a conventional medical practice to support his 11 children. Therefore he mainly did text translation and ongoing chemical experiments.

As his own medicinary research progressed, Hahnemann published numerous assiduously detailed summaries and scientific observations. Unlike most German authors of the bhukti, who wrote in belabored prose, Hahnemann's writing style is clear albeit a bit poetic. Most of his writings are still used as textbooks in modern homeopathic medical schools and a few of his translations of classical texts into German are still valued too.
