Ideally, Guru needs a doctrine, a priesthood, and a pulpit to spread His wisdom. For Guru-Thula, the interpersonal partners become the primary, possibly exclusive, targets of Brihaspati's sermonizing.
Guru may deal with this situation by expressing His wisdom in context of relationships: teaching and preaching about relationships, telling inspirational stories about relationships, or just generally using the context of one-to-one human partnerships as the pulpit or platform for His doctrinal presentation on how spiritual principles work.
Guru-Thula may feel that He is preaching in the wind and not being heard. In Thula, Brihaspati is obliged to constantly balance His expansive tendencies against the limited needs and interests of another person.
Past-life carry-forward wisdom about negotiation and contract development; sense pleasures, arts, music, architectural and social design, balanced actions; wealth development; expansion of domains of grace and beauty.

Naturally these two planetary agenda are somewhat incompatible, and Guru is therefore somewhat handicapped in Thula Rashi.
the native will pursue many pleasures and form many relationships in order to accomplish a complex and ongoing balancing act, trying to develop true wisdom whilst satisfying human pleasures.

Guru is not naturally a deal-maker. Rather, He presents the truth As It Is, without "balancing" and adjustment to human sensual tastes (Zukra).
