Q: Thanks for your reading with the detailed personal narrative of the Vimshottari Dasha. I wonder about some of your predictions that I will enjoy affluence and comfort during the coming years due to the ease of my Venus placement.

I've heard many times that the coming end of the Mayan Calendar in a few years will create a "New Age" that starts with a terrible environmental catastrophe. A lot of people are talking about these fearful events forecast for the Gregorian year 2012 , how we can survive the disasters, etc.

How can it be that my personal timeline does not reflect this larger, definitive event? If everyone will be affected by the global changes, why would my life be different?

There are crippling food and water shortages in many places in the world right now, and those miseries will continue in those places. There is religious and ethnic conflict, which will continue indefinitely.
Some people will suffer horribly; others will flourish - as it has always been - according to their individual nativities. In the same country, in the same city, there are people living in heaven and living in hell , right next door to each other.

WRT changes in Age = the time-era system = 26,500 year cycle which repeats continuously. This great cycle is divided into sub-sections of unequal length called yuga.

The transition gear shift = yuga sandhi = periods between each yuga = themselves several hundred years long.

Sandhi = connector, link, or transition device
such as a ligament in the human muscle system, aligature in a handwriting system, or a gear-shift linkage in an automotive transmission .

The current cycle bottomed out in approximately 500-800 CE = the Dark Ages in western Europe.
