Q: Thanks for your reading with the detailed personal narrative of the Vimshottari Dasha. I wonder about some of your predictions that I will enjoy financial wealth and comfort during the coming years due to the ease of my Venus placement.
I've heard many times that the coming end of the Mayan Calendar in a few years will create a "New Age" that starts with a terrible environmental catastrophe. A lot of people are talking about these fearful events forecast for the Gregorian year
2012 , how we can survive the disasters, etc.
How can it be that my personal timeline does not reflect this larger, definitive event? If everyone will be affected by the global changes, why would my life be different?
New Age prophecies have recently become big business
Yet there is no scholarly basis for most of these terrifying disaster predictions.

Quotation from http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Mayan_calendar
"The Mesoamerican Long Count calendar forms the basis for a New Age belief, first forecast by José Argüelles, that a cataclysm will take place on or about December 21, 2012, a forecast that mainstream Mayanist scholars consider a misinterpretation, yet is commonly referenced in pop-culture media as the 2012 problem.
For example, Sandra Noble, executive director of the Mesoamerican research organization FAMSI, notes that"[f]or the ancient Maya, it was a huge celebration to make it to the end of a whole cycle".
However, she considers the portrayal of December 2012 as a doomsday or cosmic-shift event to be "a complete fabrication and a chance for a lot of people to cash in."

The "Harmonic Convergence":
Despite a flurry of
internet speculation (and anxious emails to my
inbox) that some apocalyptic change was imminent, Jyotisha had nothing to say on the matter. Of course nothing
socially-materially tangible happened within
Neither did Jyotisha offer a match to the Y2K Christian cult prediction re: "the rapture", which was timed on the basis of the Gregorian calendar year 2000. Same result.
One of my favorite older examples of apocalyptic psychology in action: in the pale of settlement in the 1700's, Jewish peasant followers of prophet-clairvoyant Baal Shem Tov anticipated a judgment day calculated for a particular mystical date in their religious calendar. People were so convinced of this prediction that they sold their property, dug their graves, and literally stood in their caskets overnight, waiting for the messianic Day of Judgment. Needless to say, dawn arrived the next morning, for thousands of homeless and financially ruined people.
More recently, the survivalist warnings of Violet Flame 1939-2009 Elizabeth Clare Prophet channeling "Saint Germaine" predicted a catastrophic nuclear attack on the USA during March-April of 1990, followed by a global nuclear winter. Thousands of people stockpiled supplies and took to their bunkers in Montana; thousands more
* especially in California * worried deeply. However there was nothing notable in the Jyotisha patterns and indeed nothing unusual happened in everyday third-dimensional reality.
The Apocalyptic Imagination
In general, the "Apocalyptic Imagination" (as a function of prophetic psychology ) is an enduring phenomenon of human consciousness.
Jyotisha would predict that the world situation, both social and environmental , is out of balance now and will continue to be out of balance for hundreds of years to come.
Jyotisha's cultural framework is less oriented to the messianic, apocalyptic narrative and more oriented to a virtually endless cyclic view of Time .
Jyotisha provides no global doomsday predictions in the Abrahamic-religious style. Rather, there is an expectation of a constant cycling of climate change while human groups fight to control scarce resources.
Thus human populations will continue to build and destroy societies in various places, and they will continue to shift around the planet, as they have done since time immemorial.
... the short answer to your question is that, from my practice perspective, there is no dire warning that would alter your personal Vimshottari timeline.
There are crippling food and water shortages in many places in the world right now, and those miseries will continue in those places. There is religious and ethnic conflict, which will continue indefinitely.
Some people will suffer horribly; others will flourish - as it has always been - according to their individual nativities. In the same country, in the same city, there are people living in heaven and living in hell , right next door to each other.
This will continue.
| Affinity for Social Conflict (6) and Group Consciousness (11)
I'm delighted to know that you are enjoying your Jyotisha reading!
rogesha-6 + Vriddhipathi-11 Zukra Mahadasha your age 50-70 may indeed cause you to feel a long lasting consciousness affinity with the exploited and the downtrodden, and you may be moved to travel voluntarily to aid those in distress. You are a deeply compassionate and caring person and you want to see balance imposed in this world. However your Jyotisha placement of Shukra is very fortunate, which indicates that you will not be personally harmed by any catastrophic situations that might be happening around you.
The bottom line is that external experience is the result of the psychic programming each person carries through life. Nothing happens "to"a person. And nothing will happen"to" one that one does not personally create through one's own beliefs and expectations. Your own program of subconsciously held belief (which can be seen partly through the unfolding narrative of the Vimshottari Dasha in Jyotisha) may include some personal illness and social indignities, but essentially it looks pretty good for the next 20 years.
Indeed, when you are 57-58, you will travel very widely and have some fascinating (and taboo) relationships. Behari says,
Hope this Jyotisha viewpoint is helpful. IMO, according to your Vimshottari Dasha, there is nothing to worry about.
My own view of the larger Time Cycles:
Re: changes in"Age", the time-era system that I follow is a 26,500 year cycle which repeats continuously. This great cycle is divided into sub-sections of unequal length called"yuga".
The transition"gear shift" or"yuga sandhi" periods between each yuga are themselves several hundred years long.
Sandhi = 'connector', link, or transition device -- such as a ligament in the human muscle system, a ligature in a handwriting system, or a gear-shift linkage in an automotive transmission .
The current cycle "bottomed out" in approximately 500-800 CE = "the Dark Ages " in western Europe.
The last major 'upward' transition occurred during the late 1600's-early 1700's, a period known in Euro-history as the Enlightenment. Although most people continued to follow their interior narratives of personal misery, poverty, illness, and superstitious darkness, an elite few brilliant minds begin to network with each other and the principles of self-evident truth are established. At this time historians account the general beginning of the industrial revolution and popular literacy in modern societies.
It was also the onset of era of colonial domination in many parts of the world. Due to the horrible abuses, this seems like a darkening rather than an enlightenment to some modern eyes. Yet in the bigger picture this era shows the onset of global unification through an emerging system of roads and shared languages .
It is the first dawning light of the cosmic

The transitional times are marked by large-scale wars, and that transition (admittedly quite bumpy) is considered still largely ongoing. And there are numerous mini-cycles involving the birth and collapse of short-term developments, for example the 'Dark Ages' following the collapse of the ancient Egyptian empires.

The intentional design of Earth's context - the
galactic network and the network of universes -- would not permit the catastrophic collapse of civilizations to occur in time spans of less than a couple of hundred years.
Plus even when there is significant destruction of a

always a bridge to an continuation culture (like
Egyptian high culture). The

In this esoteric view, not all societies within a civilization will respond to the change signals at the same pace.
It really does take several hundred years for large-scale changes to occur in spiritual consciousness or in
