Surya

vidyapathi L-5

measured from Mesha lagna, Mesha Chandra, Mesha navamsha

  • Genius

Great pride in one's children and the products of one's unique intelligence.

Surya = lord of bhava-5 Simha = awareness of the presence of Divine Intelligence, winning by speculation, children and other acts of creative genius, political power and celebrity recognition.

as planetary patron of a bhagya * fortunate domain, Surya brings good luck and strong intelligence, a delight in performance, and a royal entitlement to enjoy all that is glittering and brilliant in life.

Father * Surya = pitri-karaka

Father is related to matters of bhava-5 including celebrity, royalty, entertainments, politics, creativity, and all expressions of unique individual intelligence. The father may be unconcerned with the law; the father is brilliant.

Career

Surya = karaka for career and public recognition. Ravi = vidyapathi-5 for Mesha lagna.

Mesha native = somewhat disposed to accept public roles and professional leadership responsibilities in the areas of adolescence, creative intelligence, and politics (5).

Favors bright visibility in charismatic roles such as theatrical performance, games and entertainments, royalty and courtly life, politics and contests for power (including elections), literary arts, and creativity of children.

Vocation or avocation with youth group activities .

Remedial Ratna for Surya - Manika (pure Ruby)

quotation from : ~~ Dr. G. S. Kapoor. (1994). Gems and Astrology . Ranjan Publications, New Delhi. p. 87

"For the Aries (Mesha) Ascendant

  • Sun rules the 5th a trine

  • and is a friend of Mars and the lord of the Ascendant.

  • the natives of this ascendant will profit considerably by wearing a Ruby.

They will become very Intelligent, there will be spiritual development in them,

  • they will be blessed with children,

  • will be bestowed honours and will be favoured by Government.

  • The beneficial effects of the gem will be more pronounced in The major period of Sun."

Chandra rules bhava-4

L-4

measured from Mesha lagna, Mesha Chandra, Mesha navamsha

  • Secure Foundations, home, Schooling, Vehicles, Root Culture

Chandra rules bhava-4, granting a particularly intuitive understanding and ability for matters of defensive or protective roles, real-estate, policing, school-teaching, parenting, gardening, fishing, farming, and involvement in all of the habitual rhythms and customs of an ethnic people in their place of settlement

Mesha lagna nativities need (Chandra) to have a rooted, established, secure home base. Needs safe shelter, protected boundaries, reliable and habitual local folk customs and established cultural norms. Emotionally soothed by the ocean tides, agricultural cycles, and seasonal religious festivals.

Often deeply dedicated to the parents, elder people, sheltering and nourishing care of the vulnerable. An emotionally habitual person who feels more grounded in environments with strong ethnic cultures in a well-cared for place of settlement.

If Chandra is well-placed, a foundational personality in the place of settlement, much appreciated for their school-teaching and parenting steadiness. If Chandra less well-placed, may develop emotional compulsion to repeat specific push-pull movements and devolve into overly parochial expressions of patriotism, xenophobia, etc.

Double emphasis upon security, protection, parents, place of settlement, rhythmic tidal movements, folk customs and established cultural norms of the local people, foundational schooling, sheltering, fishing, farming, meals, local dress, seasonal festivals, local deities, ethnicity, and"end of things ".

Chandra = lord of bhava-4 Karkata = early childhood home, attachment to the land and folk customs and established cultural norms of one's people (especially the maternal culture)

Bandhu bhava represents the ties that bind: folkways customs, established cultural norms, and ancient rhtyhmic habits of the tribe, local culture, diplomas and licensing, emotional and social security, shelters and vehicles of all kinds

The crab's movable bhava-shell and its ever-seeking-security behaviors symbolize bhava-4.

Chandra = patriotism and love of the homeland. homestead and schooling.

Chandra = base layers and foundations, underground, subterranean matters, burials, final resting place.

For Kriya lagna nativities, mukta * moti * is always a nice gem to wear. Yet the moti is an essential choice of remedial ratna for the Mesha native on a budget.

Wearing of white clothing as a reminder of commitment to maintain psycho-emotional purity is always beneficial for the Mesha native.

Best Choice = Seva

  • A deep, lifelong commitment to Seva in the area of the education of disadvantaged children (4) will overall be more effective than wearing even the most lovely Moti.

According to BPHS ch 43, the period of Chandra-Zukra can be fatal.

Remedial Ratna for Chandra * Mukta (moti, pure natural Pearl)

quotation from : ~~ Dr. G. S. Kapoor. (1994). Gems and Astrology . Ranjan Publications, New Delhi. p. 92:

"For the Aries Ascendant

Therefore by wearing a Pearl an Aries Ascendant native will get

  • freedom from mental disturbances,

  • happiness from mother,

  • success in educational activities

  • and he will gain landed and house property.

The results will be more pronounced in the major period and sub-periods of Moon.

It will give more beneficial results

  • if worn with Red Coral the gem stone of Mars the lord of the Ascendant."

Kuja

L-1+ randhresha-8

measured from Mesha lagna, Mesha Chandra, Mesha navamsha

  • identity, vitality, and transformation

Vital and competitive lagnesha Kuja also controls bhava-8. Kuja is the most influential graha for Aja lagna, following the importance of the Moon.

  • Angarika = healthy and vigorous for exploration of the intuitive subconscious in the friendly sign of Meena, in the meditative, self-effacing, sanctuary-seeking 12th house.

  • Society rewards this native for their strong physical body engaged in healing sanctuary service, such as massage therapy, psychotherapy, hatha yoga instructors, and other physical paths toward integration of body, mind, and spirit.

  • Seeks to apply the vital physical energies in a sanctuary space, targeted to helping others recover their health.

Presuming that Kuja is well-disposed, Mangala periods bring opportunities for winning competitions through physical skill, and recognition for the physical appearance .

Natural Coral or Kuja's lower-potency stones can be worn with good effects, unless there are problematic graha in bhava-8. (There are certain tantrik exceptions where coral would be good, even with problematic graha in randhra bhava, but in general the Chaaga lagna native should avoid Kuja-ratna if there is disturbance in 8.)

Kuja's character in rashi and bhava will determine the field of action for the perpetual challenge, competition and combat which propel this highly vital native into life and work.

for the Mesha lagna, Mangala may be a competitive businessman, a metalworker, a skilled and active sports enthusiast, a hunter, an athlete or dancer, a barber or surgeon or dentists, an emergency worker in police, fire, or ambulance service. One may express the tremendous vitality of Mesha lagna in any good strong physical way (unless Kuja is oppressed by Shani). Weapons and steel implements are nearly always a part of their life.

  1. Mangala's position will make or break the success of Mesha lagna folks. Mangala will show the style and direction in which the life force wishes to travel.

  2. Should Kuja be exalted, in own sign, in parivartamsha yoga with his lord, or in kendra, Mesha may enjoy worldly success. The stronger Kuja's traits the strong the native 's performance in his specialty.

  3. Guru, Zukra, and other benefics will contribute their own measure of talent and capability to the life. However, the lagnesha Kuja has amplified powers.

  4. Kuja is not a reflective force but rather active and productive. He never loses his malefic quality - his drive to create competition, aggression, war - but he may give excellent worldly results when he is well placed.

For example,

  • If Kuja occupies Makara in Vikrama bhava, He marks excellence in business and a propensity to create self-made financial well-being . He will be exalted in the house of sales, marketing, administration, meetings, teamwork, colleagues/siblings, and mental tasking. So of course he flourishes in virtually any type of commerce!

  • Add a parivartamsha yoga with Shani rising in Scorpionis (every 29 years a batch of these people are born!) and see the prognosis for self-made financial wealth through determined hard work, dominating aggressiveness, and sharp business judgment.

By contrast,

  • If Kuja occupies Kumbha, the sign of his enemy, in bandhu bhava, the individual may find that their life force tends to implode. There is little useful expression in the outside world due to the combined oppression of Kuja plunged into the emotional realm of the 4th house and doubly chained to the whims of his adversarial Professor Shani .

  • The power of kendra is somewhat helpful, providing the stamina to keep this person alive and working until Shani becomes more friendly - usually in middle age. Shani is friendly to age, experience, wisdom, conservative principles, delayed judgments, etc.

  • This situation of Mangala will be extremely difficult until Kuja reaches his maturity at age 28;

    thereafter a comparatively less oppressed period until the 2nd Saturn return in the mid-forties; and thereafter until death (depending on dasha effects) this Mars becomes easier to manage as the body and emotions are less turbulent in age.

lagnesha = Mangala in bhava-1

lagnesha = swakshetra Mangala-Meza * Ruchaka Yoga = dominant force in competitive situations.

Particularly excellent in the moolatrikona zone 0-18 Mesha .

Tremendous life-force vitality surges with muscular movement. A dominating force (unless oppressed by Shani). Hunter and athlete, single-focus pursuit of the goal.

Body-focus, social recognition for movement, attention to developing the warrior powers of the physical body.

Kuja Dosha

Although society may praise this muscular and dynamic person, the"Manglik" effects may overly energize the native's behavior in the first marriage unless a benefic aspect reaches the 7th house. Forecast for numerous partners in the lifetime or no long-term partners at all. Second marriage is not harmed.

  • celibate Miraculous Medal 1806-1876 St. Catherine Laboure - controlled by uttama-Shani drishti

Drishti from a stabilizing or oppressive counterforce can partially correct the invasive, dominating effects of Kuja-1 in the marriage environment.

Annamayakosha emanating image of youthful, radiantly healthy, innovative, and exciting vitality. Superb athlete, stage performer; if yuti the uttama-Surya, may display a commanding personality of extraordinary willfulness and confidence.

lagnesha = Mangala-Vrizabha

lagnesha = Mangala in bhava-2

Kuja brings pro-active speech and dynamic drive to increase The financial wealth of the family. Although softened in a rashi of Zukra, may be an excessively sensual climate in the family history, unless Kuja is exalted.

If other graha accompany Kuja, the effect may improve considerably, as Kuja's self-focused sexual energy can become an engine for higher intelligence in money, speech, record-keeping, food and wealth storage, and all type of historical memory development.

lagnesha = Mangala-Mithunaya

lagnesha = Mangala in bhava-3

Mangala-Mithunaya-3 brings energy and drive into the world of team communications, business administration, meetings, conferences, scheduling, short-term business travel, and the constant movement of the commercial mind.

An energetic and productive writer, active in daily conversations, likes to"talk shop" in a routine style than can develop into boasting about personal wins and successes.

  • No matter what this person says about wanting success for the team, one does primarily think of oneself .

Gives a competitive younger sibling who may succeed well in business or some variety of communications profession. Strongly sexual and/or sporting effects within the sibling-type friendships and work-mate circle; a karaka for "office romance". Mangala-3 mentality is dynamic and hyperactive (more-so if yuti Budha) .

Urge to communicate via sexual conversation may be pronounced.

lagnesha = Mangala-Karkata * nichha

lagnesha = Mangala in bhava-4

Mangala-4-Karkata = a parental or patriotic orientation with particularly vigorous feelings on the need (4) for self-defense.

May be a defender of local folk customs and established cultural norms engaged in social practices such as K-12 education, local and regional government, or other duties which require an emotionally energized parochial viewpoint.

Excellent placement for operator of watercraft, river pilot, fisher-people, boat-driver, ferryman, ocean harvesters.

Kuja Dosha

Mangala-4-Karkata is the most notorious placement for Kuja Dosha since the aggressive, movement-propelling energy of Mangala strikes the ideally balanced and fairly placid bhava-7.

If the native can address concerns about suppressed anger and passive-aggressive behavior in a therapeutic setting, marriage may serve the valuable purpose of causing an awakening to deeply contained anger at misbehaving parents.

However this placement does require vigilant management of the trust, and persistent consciousness of the emotional motivations, in order to produce a positive experience in the marriage contract.

Fundamentalism and other reactionary extremist boundary-defense aggressions such as xenophobia may result, all originating in early problems with the parents.

Mangala-4-Karkata has a shortfall of trust in his early home environment which makes one reactionary and unable to trust oneself - or others - as an adult. Others find one to be manipulative and emotionally unstable, consistently maneuvering to get more than one is owed.

Tendency to cheat. Vulnerable to scandal through manipulation and scheming.

If Kuja enjoys nichha-bhanga, results can be spectacularly successful.

lagnesha = Mangala in bhava-5

lagnesha = Mangala-Singha

Mars is healthy and vigorous for creative endeavor in friendly Simha, in the 5th bhava = speculative, political, literary, performance-arts.
lagnesha = Mangala in bhava-6

lagnesha = Mangala-Kanya

lagnesha = Mangala in bhava-7

lagnesha = Mangala-Thula

lagnesha = Mangala in bhava-8

lagnesha = Mangala-Vrizchika

Mangala-Vrischika-8 = socially honored for skillful exploration of hidden matters - especially for detecting long-buried hidden resources which society is ready to exploit.

Capable deep-sea diver, explorer, miner, seismologist, sex therapist, market economist, other professional who uncovers buried treasures or gives power to overcome fear via active pursuit of mysterious, hidden forces.

lagnesha = Mangala in bhava-9

lagnesha = Mangala-Dhanuzya

Mangala-Dhanushya-9 = healthy and vigorous for political and doctrinal leadership, in religious, philosophical, and professorial matters.

  • This person receives social validation for making positive lifestyle choices that honor the physical body.
  • Vigorous coach, mentor, world-tour guide, university level teacher.
  • Especially a good path for the successful young athlete who matures into an enthusiastic, mature, fair-minded sports leader
  • In maturity, gives society an intellectually positive competitive outlet for war-instincts.

Priesthood of warriors. May not be entirely orthodox in teaching methods due to the instinctive animal drive of Kuja.

lagnesha = Mangala in bhava-10 * dig-bala * Ruchaka Yoga

lagnesha = Mangala-Maraka * uttama

Mangala-Makara-10 = championship in the fields of hierarchical elite competition.

exceptionally strong and auspicious for competitive success . High public position with recognition for pursuit of elite privilege and recognition, physical stamina, and daily performance in professional realms.

Mangala-Makara-10 = a captain of industry or highly placed senior executive, socially honored for the dignity they confer on their organization through superior leadership.

Physically vigorous, instinctively competitive, capable of working very long hours, and singularly dedicated to the success of the institution, corporation, or organization.

Held in high esteem as a respected parent. Rarely fall to scandal

lagnesha = Mangala in bhava-11

lagnesha = Mangala-Kumbha

Mangala sees Kumbha's Professor Shani as a samagraha" neutral".

(By contrast, Shani dislikes Mangala and Shani fears Mangala. However Mangala has vital force therefore Mangala fears only... the distracting powers of Budha, who never stops talking!)

Kumbha is therefore a reasonably neutral territory in which Mangala may reside with benefit, with the extent of the motion permitted in Shani's rashi allowed according to incoming drishti. So long as there is no incoming drishti of Shani, Professor Kuja may develop a remarkable power to pursue the regulated linkages of a system.

Unless enjoying His uttama-Makara status or perhaps being strengthened by parivartamsha yoga with Professor Shani , competitive Mangala's forward thrust may become diffused throughout the Systematic Network.

Lagnesha in vriddhi-sthana brings the energy of the vital personality into the activities of social-economic networking and scientific testing; while lagnesha casts drishti upon bhava-2 (savings) bhava-5 (winnings) and bhava-6 (debt). Earnings (11) as a form of financial well-being are produced by economic participation even vigorous economic competition, and the overall financial situation is generally positive after balancing out the gainful effects of 11, 2, 5 against the draining effects of broken contracts which create the debt of 6.

lagnesha = Mangala in bhava-12

lagnesha = Mangala-Meena

Kuja Dosha - requires extra physical space in marital life." Square footage" is the key to calm coexistence.

Best results with planned spousal joint activities. Poor results from expecting some sort of"natural", default, unplanned harmony.

  • Sexual energy (Kuja) runs high, but driven by the engines of fantasy and imagination.

Requires conscious time together, neither accidental or socially forced relationship. Trouble comes from interrupting each partner's contemplative world. Respect for personal space, all goes well.

Angarika = healthy and vigorous for exploration of the intuitive subconscious in the friendly sign of Meena, in the meditative, self-effacing, sanctuary-seeking 12th house.

  • Society rewards one for maintaining a strong physical body, so long as the body is engaged in healing sanctuary service.
  • Benefits rigorous spiritual austerities, and professional service such as massage therapy, psychotherapy, hatha yoga instructors, and other physical paths toward integration of body, mind, and spirit.
  • Seeks to work in a sanctuary space helping others recover their health.

May be a gifted intuitive counselor such as palmist or meditation guide, if Zukra or Guru are also in bhava-12. There should be a level of physical involvement in the practice, if the intuitive perception is to be made useful to others.

Vimshottari periods of Mangala

Swabhukti of lagnesha Mangala can be an extremely influential and significant period of the lifetime.

For the Mesha nativity, if possible a Jyotisha remedial Red Coral should be worn during Mangala mahadasha.

Alternatively, the even more powerful offering of Seva will be highly effective. For the entire seven years of the Mahadasha of Angarika, Seva should be offered on behalf of adolescent or young-adult males

Also Seva is appropriately directed to those who need help with

  • forward movement of any kind;

  • sports and hunting;
  • competition

  • championship

  • military conquest, weaponry,
  • attacks and invasions;
  • mining, diving, and discoveries;
  • "personal best" wins;
  • birth and re-birth;

  • matters of the physical body vitality, flesh-and-blood;
  • muscular health; new starts, innovation, initiation of projects;
  • start-ups;
  • metals and metalwork, cauterizing, smithing
  • fire and fuels .

Remedial Ratna * munga (flawless red coral) for Mesha Lagna

quotation from : ~~ Dr. G. S. Kapoor. (1994). Gems and Astrology . Ranjan Publications, New Delhi. p. 95

"For the Aries Ascendant

  • Mars rules the Ascendant.

The person with this ascendant should wear Coral all his life.

Red Coral will bestow

  • good health, longevity, courage, name, fame and happiness.

It will neutralize the evil effects if Mars is ill disposed or is afflicted in any way."

Budha

L-3+ rogesha-6

measured from Mesha lagna, Mesha Chandra

= "The Problematizer"

  • Inimical view of siblings, collaborative teams, planners and organizers, media workers

  • Disagrees with those who set calendars and maintain accounting systems

  • May feel victimized by those who are very chatty, conversational, superficial thinkers, hyper-organizers

Budha = L-3+ rogesha-6 = "The Problematizer" = an especially pernicious graha for Mesha lagna / Mesha-Chandra.

  • Budha and Kuja = Adversarial graha.

  • The internal narrative is disturbed.

  • bhava-3 and bhava-6 are"upachaya" dushthamsha which i mprove with time.

Exception = uttama-Budha in bhava-6

Positive effects =

  • increased business travel (L-3)
  • well-received detailed arguments in criminal litigation,
  • successful treatment plans and overall regard in professional medicine including pharmacology and disease research
  • various expressions of logical intelligence on the part of the employees, servants, and relatives of the mother (6).

Best results of this placement apply to those engaged in ministries of service =

  • environmental, public-interest, divorce and criminal attorneys;
  • physicians and clinical medical professionals
  • any ministry of service to the exploited, ill, indebted, victimized, accused, or polluted
  • those who work in logically complex planning, writing, and instructional scenarios

for the Mesha radical lagna or the Mesha Chandra nativity, positive results of uttama-amza Budha in satkona can be enhanced via a pure emerald to be worn only during Budha mahadasha.

Budha-bashing

  • The Mesha native dislikes Budha's characteristic story-telling and chattiness - unless Mesha oneself can direct the conversation.

  • Mesha disagrees with most output of commercial communication systems such as memoranda, meeting agendas, and telephone conferences. Impatient Mesha wants to"get to the point". For Budha, talking and writing *is* the point. Budha's story will go on and on.

  • Mesha will generally accept the reality of interpersonal communication as a necessary evil upon the road to solo competitive advantage.

  • However Mesha may resent or inherently disagree with those who hold Budha-type roles such as secretaries, organizers, event-planners, travel-schedulers, accountants, publicists, attorneys, and petty administrators.

  • Mesha natives feel less frustration from Budha-behaviors when Budha occupies Mesha, or when benefics occupy Mithuna and Kanya.

Writing

  • Presuming that Budha is reasonably well disposed, Mesha is usually A capable writer due to Budha = L-3.

  • Budha = L-3+rogesha-6 , thus Mesha is mentally skilled at framing and defining processes and problems.

  • Mesha generally wants to avoid long stories, accusations, victim tales, and other narrative which complexify the process of "getting to the point".

  • Writing style depends on Professor Budha's bhava and rashi. Exempli gratia, Budha-Meza has a bullet-point style; while Budha in Dhanuzya is more philosophical.

Marital problems

  • Mesha often feels that talking (Budha) about marital problems (6) tends to make the problems worse. Typically, the Mesha native feels adversarial toward the process of venting accusations or even acknowledging conflict in the relationship (6).

  • If yuvatipathi-7 (counseling) is well-disposed, Mesha may agree to marriage counseling.

  • Yet, in the agreement-seeking space, due to the mental character of Budha, Mesha may continue to problematize rather than pursue a solution.

Conversational, administrative, and sexually curious Budha is a troublemaker because He mentally over-stimulates The inner chatter (Budha chat) of bhava-3 and bhava-6.

It is not recommended for the Mesha native to apply Emerald for remedial purposes.

It is best to also avoid even Budha's lower-potency stones (such as peridot). However, the lower-vibration stones probably have negligible effect unless the person is already quite ill or psychically oversensitive.

Psychically gifted persons with Mesha lagna might notice that a bright green light pattern in the personal aura can indicate mental or physical imbalance-seeking-a-remedy for Mesha folk. One may choose - from experience and not from superstition - to use colors other than true green, where feasible.

Budha is a particularly difficult graha for Mesha nativities in which Budha = rogesha-6 from both radix lagna (material animosity) and Chandra lagna (emotional imbalance). These are:

  1. Mesha radix lagna + Mesha Chandra

  2. Mesha radix lagna + Makara Chandra

  3. Mesha Chandra + Makara lagna

Good for Gambling

Politics = Profitable

surprisingly for this trouble-maker, the bhratrupathi-3 + rogesha-6 Budha has a shining bright underbelly. He is good for gambling -- including that biggest of all gambles, creating a new life child.

Periods of Budha for the Mesha native may be filled with many annoyances, overly abundant commercial transactions and administrative (3) messages; undue amounts of writing and reporting (3); too frequency short-term travel (3); and the expected mental-physical health stress (6) resulting from the breakdown of trusts and contracts.

Budha can even signify a divorce under the provenance of the satkona. However one of the best features of both Guru for the Thula lagna and Budha for the Mesha lagna is one quirk of house lordship. This quirk allows the bhratrupathi-3 + rogesha-6 to produce wealth from children, politics, literature, games, and creative speculation = L-2 from 5 and Vriddhipathi-11 from 5.

Mesha natives who are in a family way will delight in knowing that, whatever the other obstacles in their nativity, periods of Budha are highly empowered to bring a child into the life. There should be a nice graha in either 3 or 6 to bring the best results.

Even the relatively crude sorts of gambling games are favorable. Romance (5) produces money (2, 11). Children (5) become money-makers during Mesha-lagna's Budha periods; an adult child may be profitably invited to join the parent in a speculative business venture during Budha periods. Politics (5) and drama (5) are profitable. Works of creative literature which express a personal genius (5) produce wealth (2) and income (11).

Remedial Ratna for Budha - Panna (pure Emerald)

quotation from : ~~ Dr. G. S. Kapoor. (1994). Gems and Astrology . Ranjan Publications, New Delhi. p. 99

"For the Aries Ascendant

  • Mercury rules two bad houses the 3rd and 6th.

  • It is not advisable for the natives of this Ascendant to wear Emerald.

However, Emerald may be used in the major period of Mercury

  • if he is in his own sign in the 3rd or the 6th."

Guru = dharmesha-9 + ruler-of-12

measured from Mesha lagna, Mesha Chandra, Mesha navamsha

Because Dhanushya = Brihaspati's moolatrikona rashi = identical to Mesha's dharmasthana, Guru = usually religiously minded, although in a predictably orthodox fashion which is more oriented to ceremonial ritual and public preaching (Mangala) and somewhat less to the quiet, invisible realm of private prayer.

However the Mesha native is also very acutely aware of the presence of spiritual guides in the vicinity when Guru is well disposed, so that both public and private religious activities are well supported.

One of the best characteristics of Mesha lagna is that Guru becomes the dharmesha-9 , and Guru casts His auspicious aspect upon three bhava.

Four of the twelve sthana thus benefit from the graha-drishti of the all-good ninth lord.

  • Wise and expansive Guru controls all-good bhava-9 but also the house of loss-of-identity and loss-of-body, bhava-12.

  • Therefore the typically physical, athletic, competitive Mesha may want to supplement a golden ring of yellow sapphire with a bhagya Ruby or a calming natural Pearl. Combine the Pukha-raja with a Moti for best results.

  • Several suitable gems can be designed into a pendant to be worn against the heart chakra, for good effects in education in particular..

  • Natives who are highly advanced in spiritual practice and who accept loss of identity (bhava-12) as a reasonable price to pay for religious fellowship and guru (bhava-9) may benefit from wearing the yellow sapphire alone.

Depending on characteristics of Brihaspati according to yuti-graha, rashi, drishti. and bhava, Guru Mahadasha for the Mesha radical nativity is generally a period of great wisdom and great sanctuary.

Remedial Ratna : Flawless yellow sapphire (pushkaraja,"pukhraj") for Brihaspati

quotation from: ~~ Dr. G. S. Kapoor (1994). Gems and Astrology . Ranjan Publications, New Delhi. p. 104

"For the Aries Ascendant,

  • Jupiter rules the 9th and 12th houses.

  • On account of his being lord of the 9th Trine, Jupiter is auspicious for this Ascendant.

  • Consequently wearing a yellow sapphire by a native of this Ascendant will make him intellectual, charitable, religiously inclined, respectful towards elders and bestow on him fortune , wealth, honours, name and fame.

These results will be more pronounced in the major and sub-periods of Jupiter.

  • If Jupiter is exalted in 4th house it will give rise to Hamsa yoga (one of the Panchamahapurusha yogas)

  • and will give the native unexpected rise in life if he wears a Yellow Sapphire.

  • If as ruler of the 9th

Jupiter is ill disposed or afflicted in any way in the birth chart, wearing of Yellow Sapphire will protect him from the set backs caused by the adverse position of Jupiter."

Zukra

L-2+ yuvatipathi-7 measured from Mesha lagna, Mesha Chandra , Mesha navamsha

Zukra indicates possessiveness , acquisitive tendencies, sensual pleasures, satisfaction, treasures-and-pleasures, luxuries (Laxmi) and all types of sweets.

as planetary patron of 2 and 7 for Mesha lagna, Zukra is especially possessive of collections of valuable objects [including food and money] (2) and their sexual partners (7)

Food-mouth:

  • Mesha and Mesha-Chandra tend to be sensual eaters and as a result often battle body-weight accumulation in their later years.

  • Mesha-Chandra = emotional-sensual indulgent eater with the resulting fleshly accumulation on a rather volatile emotional cycle; they are stress-driven eaters. Mesha in the radical lagna = slow and steady accumulation through pleasure-eating, resulting in physical portliness toward the later years.

Mesha are characteristically possessive of their partner, and will generally not initiate a divorce or break an business contract. In fact, the typical Mesha * especially the male * may resist divorce and avoid breaking business partnerships even when conditions are very inhospitable.

Mesha has a strong sense of"mine" which allows accruals (Zukra) but not disbursements. Thus their collector's instinct can become very well developed, and potentially compulsive.

  • Beware that if you have ever been involved with a Mesha person, you are considered to"belong" to their collection of persons and whatever urge you might have to forget about them they will not forget about you! Mesha marks their possessions with a psychic stamp = "it's mine" .

The typical middle-aged middle-class USA male Mesha has a garage stuffed with tools, vehicles, and miscellaneous paraphernalia of modern life. The demographically identical female has an equivalent collection of cooking and sewing tools, books, clothes, and gender-equivalent paraphernalia.

  • Dualistic twinning Budha-Vrishabha afflicted by Rahu-Ketu can cause compulsive collecting- behavior with two-ness patterns = the Mesha native collects duplicates, such as two fishing poles two coffee-pots, two libraries. Males = minimum of two wives.

Zukra has a special importance for males = their female partners.

The Makara male native will enjoy the company of women who exemplify the two domains, 2 and 7, which Zukra commands from Mesha. Her gracious presence will contribute to the native 's material enjoyment of financial wealth , pleasures of the mouth, and diplomatic agreements; likely she will have the ability to save and grow money, and the ability to form equity relationships with important people.

Zukra and Mangala are enemy graha. It is not in general a good idea to over-stimulate Zukra whenever Mesha controls a lagna, including Chandra lagna.

Mesha natives have some tendency toward sensual excess. Zukra = an empowered maraka graha for Mesha lagna.

Due to Zukra's maraka implications, avoid using Diamondor the closely related White Sapphire in remedial applications.

(Conventional heat-treated diamonds such as are sold for western-style"engagement rings " will probably have a negligible effect.)

Sweet and sensual Zukra the Devapati controls both the 1st and 2nd marriages . Also, in a masculine nativity, Zukra = significator of the first wife.

Mesha lagna or Mesha-Chandra indicates characteristics of Dhana and Yuvati in the first wife. Tendency for first wife to be financially privileged or acquire wealth quickly after marriage. She will acquire knowledge while enjoying luxurious sensual pleasures (2). In addition, the wife-1-agent is focused on the design and maintenance of balanced contractual relationships (7).

If Zukra is favorable by bhava and rashi, Mesha men may enjoy a very pleasant marriage but the native will need to develop a consciousness regarding sensual limits and keeping the sugars of life in balance.

Zukra rules both yuvati bhava and dhana bhava. From the Mesha lagna, Zukra bhukti is the terminal chidra-dasha sub-period of the Surya Mahadasha. The chidra-dasha overemphasizes Zukra's maraka empowerment.

However if Zukra is severely combust, then maraka Zukra will have no power and the native may live a long Earth-life.

Remedial Ratna : Flawless Diamond (hira) for Zukra

quotation from : ~~ Dr. G. S. Kapoor (1994). Gems and Astrology . Ranjan Publications, New Delhi. p. 102

"For the Aries Ascendant,

Venus rules the two death inflicting houses.

  • Moreover Mars, the lord of this Ascendant is an enemy of Venus.

  • It is, therefore, not advisable for the native s of this Ascendant to wear a Diamond.

However,

  • Diamond may be worn in the major period of Venus, if necessary, if Venus is in his own sign or is exalted in the 12th house.

But those in whose birth chart short life is indicated or those who are seriously ill should never wear Diamond.

  • Instead in such circumstances they should wear Red Coral, the gem stone of the lord of this Ascendant."

Shani

karmesha-10 + L-11

measured from Mesha lagna, Mesha Chandra, Mesha navamsha

Career

  • Public Visibility
  • Social Reputation and Respect
  • Elite Positions
  • Leadership Roles
  • Governance Duties
  • Professional Responsibilities

Badhaka -sthana = harming-houses

Pragmatic and conventional Shani controls career and income. Blue sapphire and Shani's lesser stones may be used judiciously. Only during Shani's periods, and only when the native is mentally, emotionally, and socially focused on developing one's public career and material income.

Badhaka-sthana

Vriddhipathi-11 Shani = the badhaka lord for Mesha lagna

bhava-11 from Mesha lagna = Kumbha = the primary "Badhaka" or harm-causing domain. Cardinal ( moveable) lagna typically has some trouble from the elder sibling, from friendly association, from the marketplace, from the nature or method of setting goals, from achievements and profits.

If the teachings of Professor Surya-Kumbha or the dictates of Shani-Rahu are subject to prolonged and repeating lessons (usually via constrictive drishti) expect some considerable troubles with the network of friends and associates during periods of Shani. One may suffer the effects of social isolation or the identity is oppressed by herd mentality or crowd movements. One tends to identify with the masses.

Periods of Shani may bring forward an agent in the figure of a friend, mentor, elder sibling, or marketplace associate, who (often inadvertently) causes harm to the native via punitive or conformity-imposing behavior, intolerance for expansion of the network into non-traditional areas, and fear of outsiders.

This badhaka agent must be handled with compassion, in the knowledge that this harm-causing agent is merely a projection of one's own unrealized fear of entering into new connections with people and ideas. Difficult graha in occupation of labha bhava or Shani drishti upon bhava-11 may exacerbate the badhaka agency.

~~ B.V. Raman. (1992.) A Catechism of Astrology , 4th ed. p. 37:

"For Aries Lagna, Saturn in Taurus, the house immediately after debilitation and the house of his very intimate friend will give position and income as planetary patron of 10 and 11 in 2, more especially if that lord Venus is strong or if there is also the aspect of Jupiter.

But as a natural malefic, He will certainly cause some wasteful expenditure and some trouble in the family like loss of children."

Remedial Ratna for Shani * Blue Sapphire * Nilam

quotation from : ~~ Dr. G. S. Kapoor. (1994). Gems and Astrology . Ranjan Publications, New Delhi. p. 114

"For the Aries Ascendant,

  • Saturn is the lord of the 10th and the 11th houses.

  • Both are auspicious houses;

  • still, on account of the lordship of the 11th house, Saturn is not considered a very auspicious planet for this Ascendant.

But we are of the view that

if Saturn is posited in the 2nd, 4th, 5th, 7th (in his sign of exaltation ), 9th, 10th (in his own sign) and 11th (in his own sign)

Blue Sapphire can be worn with advantage in the major period of Saturn.

When Saturn is in Libra in the 7th he will be exalted

and when he is in the 10th in his own sign Capricorn it will give rise to Sasa Yoga the result of which has been described as under:

  • "The person born in [sasha] yoga will command good servants. His character will be questionable. He will be head of a village or a town or even a king, will covet others' riches and will be wicked in disposition"

The wearing of Blue Sapphire will enhance the good effects of the yoga."

Rahu co-lord of Kumbha

L-11"gains "

measured from Mesha lagna, Mesha Chandra, Mesha navamsha

Rahu's effects for Mesha lagna depend significantly on Rahu's bhava, rashi, and drishti. Rahu's effects for Kumbha lagna depend significantly on Rahu's bhava, rashi, and incoming drishti. Rahu amplifies the effect of any graha who are sharing Rahu's house; and also Rahu magnifies the effects of the lord of His occupied Rashi.

  • Rahu and Ketu are said to give positive results in the 3rd, 6th, and 11th bhava from the lagna or from Chandra.

  • In addition, some authorities posit that since R-K are exalted in Vrishabha-Vrizchika (per BPHS), R-K tend to produce comfortable results when Mangala and Zukra are well-disposed.

  • The uttama-Rahu for Mesha lagna becomes a virulent maraka in dhana bhava-2. Vimshottari periods of Rahu are associated with malignant diseases of Zukra (STD, sugar-related, drug-addictions).

  • Numerous other schemes for evaluating the elusive aprakasha graha also exist. (More details in the summary provided by Dr. G.S. Kapoor. )

Relative to the Mesha lagna, Rahu = co-lord of bhava-11 Kumbha, therefore Rahu-ratna (gomedha) may become a beneficial gem for matters of professional networking, earnings in the marketplace, and acquisition of gains and achievements (not only monies but ideological goals as well).

However Rahu in either rashi of maraka Zukra = dangerous for Mesha lagna. Even for the economic development target, prescribe the Rahu-ratna should be considered only if the lord of bhava-11 and its occupants are highly benevolent.

Ketu co-lord of Vrischikap randhresha-8 "open secrets "

measured from Mesha lagna, Mesha Chandra, Mesha navamsha

Ketu's effects for Mesha lagna depend significantly on Ketu's bhava, rashi, and drishti. Ketu amplifies the effect of any graha who are sharing Ketu's house; and also Ketu magnifies the effects of the lord of His occupied Rashi.

Relative to the Mesha lagna, Ketu is co-lord of bhava-8 Vrischika, therefore Ketu-ratna is highly unlikely to be a beneficial gem *except* for matters of surgery and transformative healing, emergency medical and disaster response, and management of confidential financial information .

However even for these purposes, apply Ketu-ratna with caution and only if the lord of bhava-8 and its occupants are comfortably placed.
