" What doesn't kill you will make you stronger."

Tree_Frozenmeadow.JPG

The usual suspects: agents of moist, flowing Chandra geta pinched by dry, static Shani

Chandra = need + Shani = scarce-resources, fear, withholding

Those who would normally be expected to help tend to fail to support one in the time of need

CHANDRA FIGURES = those who become temporarily undependable

Caretakers, parents, householders, security-providers, homebuilders, schoolteachers, protectors, guardians, stewards, farmers, fisherpeople, those who defend and protect the old ways.

Also, non-human items that provide security and shelter may fail to protect, such as vehicles of land-air-sea, walls of a house or a settlement,

the Chandra-folk = under pressure from gochara Shani,

Shani freezes them.

Chandra-folk do not do what, customarily, would be morally expected.

Usually involves disappointment in the moral character of others, sometimes outright betrayal, broken promises, unavailability, and a heavy workload due to less support.

During these seven-and-a-half years, there can be harsh, insensitive, unfeeling realities.

One's most foundational comforts are being reduced by a systemic social pressure.

The rule of law [Shani] may seem to temporarily oppress the expected influence of basic compassion [Chandra].

Fear-of

Fear of insecurity, fear of being undefended, fear of not being taken care of -- the fear is often much more frightening than the reality itself.

Ideally, one realizes even when feeling overwhelmed by responsibility, that one does possess all the necessary survival resources within oneself.

Self-reliance and self-trust = the lesson of the Sade-Sati exercise.

One discovers that indeed it is not required to be helped by others because one does possess all necessary inner strength.

However, this learning requires having the experience of deprivation of emotional support in order to dramatize how much inner power one does indeed have!

Everything is slower, heavier, and takes longer to accomplish

but ultimately the results are beneficial for deepening the personal maturity and self-reliance.

If one knows in advance when Sade-Sati will be operating, it is beneficial to reduce expectations of others and presume that whatever is going to be accomplished = it will be done by reliance upon one’s own efforts under guidance of one's own spiritual advisors.

In every bhava, the 2.3 year occurrence of Sade-Sati enforces Shani strictures upon Chandra rhythmic, pulsing, nourishing, caretaking flow.

Sade-Sati occurring in any bhava imposes a pinch of scarcity, duty, and emotional compression.

Sade Sati imposes exhausting responsibility toward emotional-support providers such as parents-and-grandparents, caretakers, provisioners of shelter and nourishment, schoolteachers, local defenders.

Shani seizes-and-freezes the customary flow of reliable rhythms and routines; He desiccates the roots of the home culture.

Sade-Sati is ultimately clarifying, maturing and Empowering

Psychologically, it is the obligation of Sade-Sati to eliminate some variety of false belief about the source of nourishment and protection.

Humans have a strong tendency to project their internal spiritual powers upon outside objects . The most common objects are the parents, the mate, the teachers, the boss, or the friends - but there can be other idols as well.

One important purpose of the Sade-Sati is to give emotional closure to a long-cherished but inaccurate belief that someone or something outside of oneself possesses the power of life-sustenance.

Characteristics of the twelve bhava (below) add more profile information to the profile of the object or environment upon which one' own life-force empowerment has been inadvertently projected.

Shani Improves with Age

All effects of Shani, including Shani Mahadasha, transits of Shani, drishti of Shani, and effects of Shani's natal placements, improve considerably as the native grows chronologically older.

After Shani matures at 36, the experience of Shani's characteristic limitations and restrictions is generally easier to accept and integrate. The improvement is due to one's own perceptions having slowed and become more orderly.

As one becomes more socially normalized and conventionalized during the aging process, shani's behavior begins to be perceived as more cohesive than oppressive; more structuring than restrictive; as more the lawful outcome of systems of cause-and-effect, and less as the random punishment of a fearsome overlord.

Responsibility exceeds authority for matters of genetics, tradition, history, family culture

Temporary emotional separation from caring, sustaining, protective functions of food, family-line, finances, values, heritage, sound, face, right-eye, hair, voice, teeth, tongue, language, knowledge, memory, conservation, collection, storage, banking, reserves, mother's elder sibling, father's enemies

To feel secure, Chandra-2 typically needs inflow of food, sound, and knowledge + outflow of traditional values preservation. Therefore, nao-flow gochara Shani-2's restrictions on soothing sounds within the family line can temporarily reduce Soma's sense of well-being. Samchara Shanaicara tends to lock the remembered, historical, financial patterns into place, thereby freezing major changes in heritage narrative for 2.3 years (janma phase) .

No amount of intervention is likely to significantly move the acquisition restrictions that can abide in dhanabhava. Under more motile circumstances, one might aspire to improve the vocabulary, increase the bank account, or fix the teeth. However, while conventional gochara Shani encamps within bhava-2, expect 2-things to effectively remain the same for bureaucratic reasons or due to scarce resources.

On the upside, change-resistant Shani samchara in-2 can provide a relief from any aggressive challenges present in 2, such as unwanted actions from the mother's elder siblings, or enemies of the father. Prolonged storage effort may be exhausting but often produces a valuable result. Normalizing Shani gochara-via-2 prevents either bettering or worsening of collections. For these 2.3 years, everything and everyone in 2 benefits from eschewing innovation and simply following the rules. Strict Shani prevents creative alteration.

In the evaluating, record-keeping environment of bhava-2, extreme volatility does not generally develop during the 2.3-year regime of janma Sade-Sati. Rather, there may be a punishing sense of harsh assessment, emotional coldness, and temporary deprivation of financial, genetic, or preservationist support. Sober Shani provides a lengthy era of realism and maturity in response to matters of memory, libraries, databases, gathering, and historical tradition.

Gochara Shanideva Bhagavan tends to favor conservation that is proletarian, conventional, honoring labor, honoring age, lawful without exception, heavy, slow, using paper-stones-bones, and featuring the colors of dark brown and dark blue.

Samchara Shani contact radical Chandra in bhava-4 [dikbala]

Consider always the presence of additional graha located in 4, as well as conditions in 4th-from-Chandra.

As slow-down Shani crosses the foundational base [4] one may experience the effects of grinding to a halt.

  • Shani's gravity and weight tend to pull the attention into matters of the home and its immediate environment, the local settlement, the schools, the pathways, and most of all personal security.

Reduced movement. Anchored in place. Stability and conformity in the home.

Before age 36

  • in their role as class-rank socializers, parents may become steadily oppressive
  • culture of scarcity in home, relentless discipline in school,
  • educators require normalization [not creativity],
  • transport scarcity, caring for the home with limited resources, crushing routines.

After age 36-38

more attunement and matching to the cultural rhythms of the homebase.

  • Yet still driving cranky old cars, fixing and re-fixing old wagons and boats, carrying heavy loads along the pathways, burdened by parenting responsibilities, farmlands dry, shoring-up underground tunnels, burials, resistance to movement away from the fixed place of security.

After age 72

Harmonious attunement to the steady state of unmoving from a secure location.

  • Scarcity of resources in matters of home, farm, transport, schooling, boundary-protection.
  • Yet one has seen this predictable cycle twice before.
  • Maturity, patience with slow process, acceptance of temporary limitation, and stamina of endurance are accessible and useful.
  • These gifts of Shri Shani are easily applied to the times.

6th-from-11 = Learning Pathway

While Shani transits via 6th-from-11th (4) there is often a general grumpiness, stubborn intolerance, low-level but steady conflict in regard to matters of 11. Naturally the intensity of the learning experiences depend upon specific graha in 11, the specific rashi, and where bhava-4 is located vis-a-vis Chandra lagna. Nevertheless, an overall pattern may be discerned.

By design, the 6/8 shad-ashtakya angles from 11 must afflict 4 and 6. This geometry is fixed, and the educational provocation happens for everyone when their time comes.

The friends, the goals, and the revenues (11) are scheduled to produce BOTH unfairness, toxicity, or imbalance in matters of bhava-4 ++ sudden unexpected changes, transformation, and rebirth in matters of bhava-6.

Participation in the marketplace economy, which generates earnings, and makes social connections with a variety of associates, will naturally produce a conflict with commitments to be at home, to parent and garden, to stay in school, to protect the ethnic rhythms. Those with strong graha in both 11 and 4 know all about this fundamental tension. It is the attention to this tension which produces spiritual learning results.

When Slowdown Shani transits via bandhusthāna, grievances (6) expressed by friends (11) and unfairness (6) emitting from the social economy (11) are ready to blossom. Shani holds the toxicity pattern for 2.3 years.

One may be housebound, to a greater or lesser degree, depending on resident graha. One may be locked into a repeating rhythm (4) of mundane duties for housekeeping, foundational schooling, parenting, property management, or transportation obligations. Shani the Unmoving (or moving as little as possible) tends to impose a limited range of movement focused into the local area. Sustaining the life friendships can require acknowledgement of the tensions between one's ancestral local rootedness versus the expansion connectivity of the voluntary associations. Socializing may become fraught with scarcity, shortages, or fear.

Particularly if there are graha in 11, staunch and sober Shani calls attention to the conflict patterns emitting from those graha. Shani creates a structure of enduring time to ponder these imbalances. The goal with Shani is rarely to eliminate the problem. Rather, shani is a System Master. He requires that all experiences, regardless of value judgment upon their worth, be legally registered within the consciousness.

Shani requires the spiritual being to own their truth, including - importantly - the phenomena that may be adjudged as criminal (6) immoral (6) or vicious (6). Shani is patient. Shani will wait. He transits via 4, once every 30 years. Each transit offers another opportunity.

Not to enter combat with the adversary (Mangala will do that, when His time comes). But rather to neutrally, non-confrontationally, observantly, lawfully accept the fact of the mismatch of the 4-11 agendas.

Shani will wait.

Temporary emotional separation from caring, sustaining, protective functions of parents, caretakers, police, protectors, anchors, roots, schoolteachers, mother-figures, gardeners, farmers, agriculture, fishing, pathways of transportation, vehicles, waterways, oceans, local infrastructure, habits, seasons, customs, way of Life

To feel secure, dikbala Chandra-4 typically needs an inflow of nourishment and outflow of customary behavioral routine. Therefore, nao-flow gochara Shani-4's restrictions on crops, fishing, and transportation can temporarily reduce the sense of well-being. Samchara Shanaicara tends to lock the local, cultural, residential, and educational patterns into place, thereby freezing major changes in housing and schooling for 2.3 years (janma phase) .

No amount of intervention is likely to significantly move the anchored patterns of being rooted-in-place that can abide in bandhusthāna. Under more motile circumstances, one might aspire to shift house, alter the cultural routines, or change the approved educational curriculum. However, while conventional gochara Shani encamps within bhava-4, expect 4-things to effectively remain the same for bureaucratic reasons or due to scarce resources..

On the upside, achange-resistant Shani samchara in-4 can provide a relief from any aggressive challenges present in 4, such as unwanted actions from police, parents, or schoolteachers. Normalizing Shani gochara-via-4 prevents either bettering or worsening of customary environments such as home, worship, and routine pathways. Prolonged course of study or repeating examinations may be exhausting, yet often produce a reliable result. For these 2.3 years, everything and everyone in 4 benefits from eschewing innovation and simply following the rules. Strict Shani prevents alteration.

Her Saade-Sati began with Shani's ingress into Makara in March-1990 and finished with Shani's egress from Meena in Apr-1998. During the first third, aSaturn-Return and oppression to [nīcha] Guru-3 caused pressure from media-messaging and publication (biography released 1992). From March 1993 until June 1995, shani's transit via Kumbha contacted her Chandra-Ketu very close combination in Kumbha-Dhaniṣṭha-3. The scandalous television interview, which she apparently arranged without " permission" (Shani contact Ketu) occurred in 1995 as Shani samchara formed a tight opposition 7th-angle to not only her Rahu-yuti-Mangala-Singha-10 public reputation, but also Shani's drishti contacted her Jyeṣṭha radical lagna. The public-and-personal pressure was immense. The final portion of the Sade-Sati as Shani entered Meena-5 endured from Jun-1995 until April 1998 causing some separation from her children. It was not long after gochara Rahu entered Simha-10 in late Jun-1997 during her Guru-Rahu chidra-dasha that dematerialization occurred in Aug-1997. (Surya-Budha-8 suggest an abbreviated longevity). Siblings are impacted due to drishti of Samchara Shani upon 3rd-from-Chandra; and the emotional energy needed to sustain leadership roles is also impacted due to drishti of Samchara Shani upon 10th-from-Chandra.

When Shani transits a kendra, possibility of materializing success and social recognition, but only by repeated and relentless effort.

In extreme cases: fear of loss of home or homeland, drying of agricultural crops, drying of fishing waters or fish are inaccessible, inability to sustain the national citizenship, or fear of separation from either parent Typically, the motherr.

Samchara Shani is the agent of anti-movement, scarcity, conformism, and hierarchy. He brings restriction, slowness, limits, and insufficient resources into the bhava that He is visiting. While Scarcity-imposing Shanaicarya is visiting the 4th radical bhava, He is imposing survival fears (His specialty), material limitations, social punishment, and rigors of the timeclock into matters of bandhusthāna.

Shani's regime includes heavy regulation of schooling, diploma, examinations, licenses, lands, home, and property ownership-stewardship , ethnicity, ethnoreligion, the mother's people, one's own childhood home, pathways of transportation, vehicles, farms and fisheries, waters, rituals, security, familiar patterns and routines, patriotism, nationalism, boundary defense, and a sense of belongingness in the place of settlement.

All of these attributes of bhava-4 anchoring (and more) are being emphasized in the spiritual curriculum during Shani's transit via bhava-4.

There is a broad overlap between the emotional-security portfolio of Chandra and the electro-magnetic emotional grounding patterns of bhava-4; However, the Sade-Sati is really a function of deprivation of parental protection whereas Shani's impact transiting bhava-4 is more diverse including all of the foundational social behaviors including food, clothing, shelter, and basic education.

Also, many of the attributes of a Chandra-Shani bhukti mimic the sade-sati and also many of the attributes of Shani's transit via bhava-4 share attributes with the Sade-Sati. However each of these curricula are distinctive. The best understanding comes from understanding each of Shani's impacts - contact to a natal graha, contact to a rashi, contact to a bhava - as separate events which may have some overlapping attributes.

Generally, shani imposes self-reliance because the protective people who should have helped one seem to dry up and become scarce.

Temporary emotional separation from caring, sustaining, protective functions of children, creativity, genius, artistic performance, games, romantic idealism, genius, divine intelligence, royalty, celebrity, entitlements, adolescents, independent scholarship, literature, poetry, financial speculation, self-confidence

To feel secure, chandra-5 typically needs an inflow of bright celebration and outflow of intelligent creativity. Therefore, nao-flow gochara Shani-5's restrictions on genius, sparkle, and drama can temporarily reduce the sense of well-being. Samchara Shanaicara tends to lock the speculative, entitled patterns into place, thereby freezing major changes in gambling and games for 2.3 years (janma phase) .

No amount of intervention is likely to significantly move the autonomous patterns of self-expression that can abide in vidyasthāna. Under more motile circumstances, one might aspire to start a new romance, alter the children's activities, or change the focus of independent scholarship. However, while conventional gochara Shani encamps within bhava-5, expect 5-things to effectively remain the same for bureaucratic reasons or due to scarce resources..

On the upside, achange-resistant Shani samchara in-5 can provide a relief from any aggressive challenges present in 5, such as unwanted actions from politicians, adolescents, or the mother's family. Normalizing Shani gochara-via-5 prevents either bettering or worsening of brightly self-referential environments such as the theatre, political campaigns, or the world of fashion. Prolonged responsibilities for children or a difficult romance may be exhausting, yet often produce an applauded result. For these 2.3 years, everything and everyone in 5 benefits from eschewing innovation and simply following the rules. Strict Shani prevents alteration.

In the naturally stable environment of bhava-5, extreme volatility does not generally develop during the 2.3-year regime of janma Sade-Sati. Rather, there may be a punishing sense of emotional coldness and temporary deprivation of intellectual, filial, or political support. Sober Shani provides a lengthy era of realism and maturity in response to matters of celebrity, glamour, royalty, special privileges, speculative finance, demonstration, brilliant light, and offspring.

Gochara Shanideva Bhagavan tends to favor ceremonial conditions that are proletarian, conventional, honoring labor, honoring age, lawful without exception, heavy, slow, using paper-stones-bones, and featuring the colors of dark brown and dark blue.

In addition to the Sade-Sati impact upon natal Somana-5, any further graha-in-5 may be individually affected by gochara Shanir.

Emotional compression in the heart

political anxiety about safety, security, sustenance [Chandra]

Likely manifestations of Sade-Sati in bhava-5 include separations, both emotional and material, from the children and from romantic lovers. Expect some political oppression or shaming-scandal within a conservative regime. There may also arise a deep frustration with delayed applause for one's creativity, intelligence, or splendid performance.

Positive outcomes may include

  • electro-magnetic emotional maturity enforced by a need to study the psychology of human needs
  • appreciation for the weight of cultural prejudice and judgment in overall perceptions of personal security
  • a slow, careful rebuilding of foundational relationships that have been broken or exhausted by external circumstances, especially the parent-child relationship.

Simultaneous drishti of Samchara Shani upon 7th from Chandra-5 impacts the marriage partner while one experiences a drying, hardening, limiting, cramping, or seizing of emotional resources.

Siblings are impacted due to drishti of Samchara Shani upon the emotionally talkative, communicative cohort evangelical instructional team-working administrative managerial announcing publishing reporting explanatory conversational lyrical messaging 3rd-from-Chandra; and the emotional energy needed to sustain leadership roles is also impacted due to drishti of Samchara Shani upon 10th-from-Chandra.

Freezing of the flow of emotional nourishment whilst steady effort is required to sustain one's personal genius, creative intelligence, divinely inspired productivity, reproductive fertility, and celebrity or fame.

  • Stalled movement toward political entitlements, failure of election campaign.

  • Dried-up of gambling luck, Stalled movement toward winnings from games and speculations.

  • Stalled movement toward royal privilege, theatrical role, deprivation of center-stage attentions and quieting of applause.

  • In extreme cases, dried procreativity or fear of separation from a living child.

In bhava-5, it is often theatrical-political duties which make romance (5) unsustainable. At first, one may accept a more central, visible duty roster [Shani] because it seems like more responsibility will lead to more legitimacy and ego-approval.

When Chandra is in 5, gochara Shani's duty roster suddenly comes to dominate all the habitual [Chandra] amusements, entertainments, romances, expressions of genius, dramatic performances, charms of children, speculative intelligence, political empowerments, celebrity fashions, and game-playing pastimes which one previously enjoyed. Shani's work occupies all of one's Time.

Emotional needs are ignored, scheduled away, denied. One may be unable to properly parent one's children due to the weight of the burden of managing public affairs [Shani].

Much effort is required to defend the public reputation [Shani]. The children, feeling unimportant, may become temporarily alienated.

Romantic lovers (5), feeling that one has no time available to devote to the romance, may depart.

Creative, literary, and dramatic self-expression is shelved until a less stressful life period; its brilliance remains frozen in time until this seven-and-a-half year transit is complete.

  • many other miseries due to unfair, toxic, unbalanced conditions

Freezing of the flow of emotional nourishment whilst steady effort is required to sustain one's bodily health balance, leading to betrayal of marital and business agreement, poverty, victimization [being eaten] , criminalization / crime, physical and emotional toxicity and social conflict * including conditions of war.

  • Extraordinary disagreement in marriage and business partnership.

  • Litigation and a litigious environment overall

  • accusations and threats, often false

  • medical pressure, wrong medications (gets corrected)

  • Marriage contract seems unsustainable due to pressure of material circumstances which force separation and delay .

Can't get along with anybody. Legitimately imposed servitude. Must associate with lowlife. Theft in the workplace. Oppressive trouble from feminine members of the service class.

Much pressure upon the Mother, to the extent that her labors could be fatal.

Loss of cattle or loss caused by domestic animals, medicines, and crimes of every type. Loss through police action, bribery and corruption, bad loans, theft, jail time, and illness.

Exacerbation of chronic lifetime internal conflicts, which manifest as conditions of physical, financial, and emotional illness .

In extreme cases, fear of loss of protection, betrayal by parents, crimes of war.

Emotional crisis due to loss of agreement in marriage or partnership (6 = 12th-from-7th). Exacerbated effects upon marriage due to simultaneous drishti of Samchara Shani upon 7th from Chandra-6 Shani drishti limits the response of the marriage partner while one experiences a drying, hardening, limiting, cramping, or seizing of emotional resources.

Siblings are impacted due to drishti of Samchara Shani upon 3rd-from-Chandra; and the emotional energy needed to sustain leadership roles is also impacted due to drishti of Samchara Shani upon 10th-from-Chandra.

In bhava-6 Sade-Sati may impose strict duties of caring for victims and Yet, the victims are"frozen in distress " being unwilling or unable to improve their fate. Duties include nursing the chronically ill, endless agricultural labor and other forms of servitude, or ministering to the indigent may prevent progress in the philosophical or scholarly professions (6 = 9th from 10th and 10th from 9th).

Higher expressions of service such as professional medicine and religious leadership may become unsustainable while lower service duties such as household chores or even some type of slavery may be imposed by Shani. A common outcome is temporary 'slavery' to caring for an ill parent or working amongst the extremely poor. If Shani is involved, possibility that a parent might force the native child into drug addiction * human trafficking * prostitution.

At first, one may accept a more central, socially visible duty roster [Shani] because it seems like more responsibility will lead to more public legitimacy and ego-approval.

Yet when Chandra occupies Ari Bhava, gochara Shani's duty roster suddenly comes to dominate all the habitual problematizing, medicating, serving, analyzing, criticizing, argumentation and litigation pastimes which one previously enjoyed in the portfolio of Chandra-6. Shani's material-achievement work occupies all of one's Time. Emotional needs are ignored, disregarded, belittled.

One may be unable to properly protect the health and welfare of one's children due to the weight of the burden of managing public affairs.

  • For a mother, the crisis of feeling unable to protect her children due to exhaustion caused by external social obligations may provoke a divorce (6) during the Sade-Sati.

Much effort is required to defend the public reputation [Shani]. One's parents are often chronically dissatisfied, ill, or addicted when Chandra occupies the Satkona

Sade-Sati-6 can annihilate a fragile, ill parent, enforcing a regime of self-parenting upon even a young child.

Children from a second marriage (6 = 5th from 2nd) feeling unimportant, may become temporarily alienated or taken away by government authorities [Shani]. Servants and animals, feeling overburdened, may depart. Intuitive [Chandra] ministries of service must be shelved until a less stressful life period; the environment remains oppressive and emotional nourishment may be scarce until this seven-and-a-half year transit is complete.

Ultimately, in ways that humans can barely fathom, justice does reign supreme within Earth's regulatory system.

Temporary emotional separation from caring, sustaining, protective functions of partners, advocates, representatives, brokers, arrangers, contract-makers, deal-makers, attorneys, counselors, advisers, peers

  • temporary dikbala for Shanideva Bhagavan

core focus of Shani Scarcity is usually the desiccation of marriage and business partnership contract

  • attorneys, lawcourts, judges, advocates, advisersm counselors, representatives, middlemen, brokers

are typically beneficial but slow.

To feel secure, chandra-7 typically needs an inflow of partner validation and outflow of parental caretaking within relationships. Therefore, nao-flow gochara Shani-7's restrictions on sentimental displays of affection in the union can temporarily reduce Chandra-7 's the sense of well-being. Samchara Shanaicara tends to lock the marital, advising, justice-seeking, and contractual patterns into place, thereby freezing major changes in alliance for 2.3 years (janma phase) .

Sade-Sati in 7 can indicate the decease of a parent or the decease of a caretaker spouse. Heavy workload for brokers, advisers, arbitrators, middlemen.

No amount of intervention is likely to significantly move the balanced contracts that can abide in yuvatisthāna-7. Under more motile circumstances, one might aspire to adjust the terms of consensus, change the mutual expectations, or update the promises made. However, while conventional gochara Shani encamps within bhava-7, expect 7-things to effectively remain the same for bureaucratic reasons or due to scarce resources..

On the upside, change-resistant Shani dikbala samchara in-7 can provide a relief from any aggressive challenges present in 7, such as unwanted actions from partners, attorneys, or negotiators. Prolonged bargaining may be exhausting but often produces a fair result. Normalizing Shani gochara-via-7 prevents either bettering or worsening of agreements. For these 2.3 years, everything and everyone in 7 benefits from eschewing innovation and simply following the rules. Strict Shani prevents creative alteration.

In the naturally stable equity-oriented environment of bhava-7, extreme volatility does not generally develop during Shani's 2.3-year regime. Rather, there may be a punishing sense of emotional coldness and temporary deprivation of spousal or peer support. Sober Shani provides a lengthy era of realism and maturity in response to matters of partnership, trust, fair contracts, advising, deal-making, brokerage, and advocacy.

Gochara Shanideva Bhagavan tends to favor arrangements that are proletarian, conventional, honoring labor, honoring age, lawful without exception, heavy, slow, using paper-stones-bones, and featuring the colors of dark brown and dark blue.

In addition to the Sade-Sati impact upon natal Chandra-7, any further graha-in-7 may be individually affected by gochara Shanir.

Legal anxiety about safety, security, sustenance [Chandra]

Fear of losing a caretaker partner, delayed court-cases, harsh judges, oppressive terms of contract, spouse becomes a workload burden

Forced to accept oppressive contracts. Freezing of the flow of emotional nourishment whilst steady effort is required to sustain one's core interpersonal relationship agreements, including counseling and advising partnerships.

Stalled movement toward making agreements in business partnership or other alliance

In kendra, Sade-Sati offers the possibility of material success and social recognition, but only via repeated and extraordinary efforts.

Although indeed a difficult period of life, the Sade-Sati via bhava-7 may produce a very valuable ending to a significantly pre-incarnationally planned relationship and a crucial payoff that may well have been one of the leading reasons for undertaking the present incarnation.

dikbala

Sade-Sati in bhava-7 is a special case due to Shani the Professor of Social Justice receives [dikbala] directional strength in the seventh bhava of lawful contacts 10th-from-10th. Sade-Sati in bhava-7 imposes a legal settlement of certain long-outstanding, long-imbalanced Chandra-related matters -- most commonly involving the parents or a parenting-type of spouse.

Therefore, the results of the Sade-Sati occurring in bhava-7 are key to the success of the incarnation for one born with Chandra in bhava-7.

The usual suspects who form the dramatic center of the Sade-Sati are either the parents (normally the mother, but with preference for the parent who is the primary caretaker) or the parental spouse. For more about the marriage behaviors of the native and their partners particularly the tendency of this placement to attract a caretaking partner, see 7th from Chandra-7

In extreme cases, death of marriage partnerr.

From my files: 50-something single professional woman who acquired custodial care of her elderly 70-something mother at the onset of the daughter's Sade-Sati. The mother-daughter relationship had been emotionally codependent. Despite her career success, the daughter had not succeeded in breaking away from the mother's domination.

Codependency is often a feature of 7th from Chandra-7 where a strong Chandra-7 may indicate that the mother insinuates herself as the child's adult primary partner.

  • For example, the notoriously clinging mother of Gospel of Wealth 1835-1919 Andrew Carnegie.

Case from Files

Elderly mother (Shani-Chandra) had advanced Alzheimer's Disease and the daughter naturally accepted responsibility for mother's institutional care (Shani institutions). Initially the daughter paid for top quality care for mom and visited the old woman regularly (Shani regularity). However, mom did not recognize the daughter due to the brain ailment. The daughter's loyalty and devotion to their relationship were never acknowledged.

As the mother's condition worsened, naursing care became more expensive, draining the finances of the daughter. At the same time, the mother's dementia increased, causing mom's outright hostility toward the daughter upon whom she cursed and spat.

The time and expense of caring for mother began to feel unbearable. Exhaustion, frustration, and worry were causing the daughter was perform poorly in her brokerage work (7). The daughter's finances were severely pinched by Sade-Sati in 7 = (debt) 6th-from-2nd. She felt bitter about losing her savings to fund the care of an old woman. Mom had been a difficult life-partner. In her final years, mom's behavior was outright nasty and crude toward the daughter.

The daughter lost her comfortable apartment when the rent was raised. In order to continue funding her mother's care, she downgraded into a cheaper flat (Shani transits 4th-from-4th housing). Finally toward the end of the Sade-Sati as samchara Shani transited into Bhava-8 = 2nd-from-Chandra, mom died.

Throughout the Sade-Sati, the daughter had maintained her professional job. Shani grants public dignity in bhava-7. Although the mother's behavior had been emotionally hurtful, the daughter's peer colleagues (7) had been understanding and supportive while the care situation dragged on. Daughter had exhausted her life savings on terminal care for a mother who neither recognized her daughter nor expressed any sort of gratitude for the sacrifice that her daughter offered. There had been no reward for effort except the closure of death.

Yet, at the end, the unrewarded, unacknowledged daughter felt the closure of a hundred lifetimes. It was a colossal payback - and a just one (7 justice). Within a few years following her mother's decease, the daughter was able to rebuild her financial reserves. She found that having drained her coffers - both financially and emotionally - she could rebuild her relationships in ways that much better suited her, without needing to always ask permission from her mother. Indeed, daughter said that she felt better balanced and more able to care for others, knowing the wellspring of self-sustaining emotional nourishment was inside of her and not (as she had once believed) inside of her mother.

Sade-Sati-8 = temporary nisturabhasi yoga occurs in randhra-Bhava-8

Samchara Shani contact Chandra in bhava-8

Temporary emotional separation from caring, sustaining, protective functions of healers, therapists, secret-keepers, masquerades, hidden relationships, in-laws, occultists, surgeons, initiators, tantriki, insurance, inheritance, emergency first-responders

To feel secure, chandra-8 typically needs an inflow of crisis energy and outflow of intervention response. Therefore, nao-flow gochara Shani-8 often cramps the emotional nature and temporarily reduces the sense of well-being. Samchara Shanaicara tends to lock the catastrophic, transformative trauma patterns into place, thereby freezing the identity-rejuvenation cycle for 2.3 years (janma phase).

No amount of attempted intervention is likely to significantly move the stuck patterns of shock-scarring or horror that can abide in randhrasthāna. Under more motile circumstances, trauma healing can become a form of mystical initiation, and greatly facilitate the advance of consciousness. However, while conventional gochara Shani encamps within bhava-8, expect things to effectively remain the same for bureaucratic reasons or due to scarce resources..

On the upside, apapagraha samchara via a dusthamsha is considered to provide a relief from any challenges present in 8, such as matters of the in-laws, hidden assets, surgeries, catastrophe, and secrets. Normalizing Shani gochara-via-8 prevents either bettering or worsening of the healing process. For these 2.3 years, everything and everyone in 4 benefits from eschewing innovation and simply following the rules. Strict Shani prevent creative alteration.

During gochara Shani's 2.3-year regime, extreme volatility in the rebirth cycling does not generally develop. Rather, there may be a punishing sense of emotional coldness and temporary deprivation of support from in-laws, hidden resources, or healers. Sober Shani provides a lengthy era of realism and maturity in response to matters of unexpected change, release of hidden forces, or emergency.

Gochara Shanideva Bhagavan tends to favor revelations and discoveries that are proletarian, conventional, honoring labor, honoring age, lawful without exception, heavy, slow, using paper-stones-bones, and featuring the colors of dark brown and dark blue.

In addition to the Sade-Sati impact upon natal Chandra-8, any further graha-in-8 may be individually affected by gochara Shanir.

  • During the Simha portion of his Sade-Sati Knowledge of Higher Worlds 1861-1925 Rudolf Steiner's mother died. Shani gochara contact Simha-Somana-yuti-Shani

A simultaneous Shani bhukti can deepen the impact considerably

  • After mom's dematerialization, and during the subsequent Kanya portion of his Sade-Sati, overlapping with Guru- Shani bhukti, Steiner witnessed the 1923 revenge-arson burning of his prized monument to the congregation of Anthroposophical spiritual seekers, the Goetheanum. Shani-Kanya contacts Kanya-bhava-9, sangha, worship, principles of belief. Also, Shani activates the adversarial [6th-from-Chandra]

Chandra in bhava-8 is constitutionally prone to emotional secrecy; Therefore, when Sade-Sati strikes it is doubly difficult for such a native to ask for and receive help. One feels the "freeze" of emotional flow; social validation and support are often withheld until the native exhibits conformity and compliance to the social order [Shani]. One tends to favor sudden changes emotionally, finding them cathartic; However, when Shani contacts Chandra there is surprising and lasting resistance to moving forward in the cycle of changes.

Simultaneous drishti of Samchara Shani upon 7th from Chandra-8 impacts the marriage partner while one experiences a drying, hardening, limiting, cramping, or seizing of emotional resources.

Siblings are impacted due to drishti of Samchara Shani upon 3rd-from-Chandra; and the emotional energy needed to sustain leadership roles is also impacted due to drishti of Samchara Shani upon 10th-from-Chandra.

Freezing of the flow of emotional nourishment whilst steady effort is required to sustain one's hidden assets, internal (" invisible" )sexual-reproductive organs And The human endocrine system which supports sexual process , secret relationships, veiled healing and transformative practices.

Sudden, forced changes create a state of social-emotional emergency.

As a result of catastrophic change, one may have lost one's previous identity; but there is resistance to re-generating and finding a new identity.

Examples:

  • widowhood or divorce

  • traumatic upheaval due to natural disaster

  • catastrophic job loss (whether voluntary or not) or sudden physical relocation, e.g. refugee

  • " healing crisis " getting stuck due to resistance during intentional transformations via psychiatric or tantrik intervention.

  • sudden death of the mother [Chandra] or profound identity change for her

In extreme cases, severe loss of hidden assets or loss of internal reproductive organs (such as hysterectomy).

Emotional crisis due to death or divorce from first spouse (8 = 2nd-from-7th).

In bhava-8, it is often secret or confidential duties which make personal healing transformation (8) emotionally unsustainable. At first, one may accept a more central, visible duty roster [Shani] because it seems like more responsibility will lead to more legitimacy and ego-approval.

Yet when Chandra is in 8, gochara Shani's duty roster suddenly comes to dominate all the habitual [Chandra] investigative, discovering, revealing, depth-plumbing, psychiatric, disaster responding, dangerous, tantrik, occult"classified" pastimes which one previously enjoyed. Shani's work occupies all of one's Time. Emotional needs are ignored, disregarded, belittled. One may be unable whilst steady effort is required to sustain the accustomed deep engagement with mysteries and covert knowledge due to the weight of the burden of managing public affairs.

Much effort is required to defend the public reputation [Shani] and assure the longevity despite a great natural affinity for cycles of self-destruction and rebirth. The hidden liaisons, feeling unimportant, may become temporarily alienated. One's own mother, asecret source of emotional nourishment, may be inaccessible in these stressful times. Anchoring of the self in the realm of secret knowledge and access to hidden wealth and occult truths must be shelved until this seven-and-a-half year transit is complete.

temporary experience of nisturabhasi yoga in bhava-9

To feel secure, Chandra in bhava-9 typically needs inflow of inspirational worldview + outflow of doctrinal guidance. Therefore, nao-flow gochara Shani-9's rough restrictions on soothing wisdoms can temporarily reduce Soma's sense of well-being. Samchara Shanaicara tends to lock the inner-teaching patterns into place, thereby freezing major changes in contemplative narrative for 2.3 years (janma phase) .

No amount of intervention is likely to significantly move the isolation restrictions that can abide in vyayabhava. Under more motile circumstances, one might aspire to improve the dreams, increase the intuition, or repair the left eye. However, while conventional gochara Shani encamps within bhava-9, expect 9-things to effectively remain the same for bureaucratic reasons or due to scarce resources.

On the upside, change-resistant Shani samchara in-9 can provide a relief from any aggressive challenges present in 9, such as unwanted actions from the father's mother, from the mother's father, or from the family of the immediate elder sibling. Prolonged research efforts may be exhausting but often produces a valuable result. Normalizing Shani gochara-via-9 prevents either bettering or worsening of sanctuaries. For these 2.3 years, everything and everyone in 9 benefits from eschewing innovation and simply following the rules. Strict Shani prevents creative alteration.

In the secluded, cloistered environment of bhava-9, extreme volatility does not generally develop during the 2.3-year regime of janma Sade-Sati. Rather, there may be a punishing sense of imprisonment, emotional coldness, and temporary deprivation of private spiritual support. Sober Shani provides a lengthy era of realism and maturity in response to matters of hospitals, monasteries, dormitories, distant lands, invisibility, coma state, and the astral-material bridge.

Gochara Shanideva Bhagavan tends to favor mandatory quarantine that is proletarian, conventional, honoring labor, honoring age, lawful without exception, heavy, slow, using paper-stones-bones, and featuring the colors of dark brown and dark blue.

In addition to the Sade-Sati impact upon natal Chandra-9, any further graha-in-9 may be individually affected by gochara Shanir.

Fear of punishment priests, father-figures, professors, bishops, sangha, religious congregation, believing community, universities, global organizations, theory, first principles, paradigms of belief, apostasy, banishment ex-communication from a cherished catechism, faith crisis

Freezing of the flow of emotional nourishment whilst steady effort is required to sustain one's religious feelings, sense of the sacred, principled worldview, and attachment to wisdom teachings.

In extreme cases in Bhava-9, stalled movement toward receipt of spiritual blessings, delay or loss of the guiding professor, guru or father.

Men of God, guru, father, preacher-teacher, professor, priests, pandits, pater-nostri, presbyters, pastors, pontiffs and pontificators, pujari, liturgists, and ritualists - particularly those of a parochial fundamentalist (Chandra foundations) persuasion - may acquire agency of invalid authority.

For those whose religious practice is primarily devotional and performed in imitation of a religiously devoted mother [Chandra] the Sade-sati in dharma-daya can be a difficult time.

Bhakti-based * worth-ship * worship is particularly vulnerable to questioning as the native during Sade-Sati may feel the pressure of Shani's mature realism which often poses a mismatch to cherished beliefs mixed with religious emotion.

May produce a crisis of faith which ultimately results in more mature religious understanding.

Sade-Sati in 9 imposes a necessary maturation of the religious convictions. Native must acquire a more profound realism, by wizening the merely conventional accepted beliefs of a settled people into a ritually-supported religion that connects the belief system to tangible reality.

At the most basic level, sade-Sati-9 signals emotional responsibilities toward an aging or resource-insufficient father-guru figure. The father may become a source of much extra work for the native who is driven to the point of collapse by guilt. As the point of collapse, the unending nature of guilt is usually revealed and the native supported by limit-maker Shani does impose some boundaries which make it possible whilst steady effort is required to sustain the relationship with one's parents.

However, chandra-9 mainly indicates a mother-figure (or both parents, or a female preacher-teacher-guru) whose social identity is sustained via the public approval granted to those who express visible religious piety. Generally, the challenge of Sade-Sati-9 is the unsustainability of mother's (parents') emotionally motivated public ritual piety which has insufficient grounding in material reality.

Within the family, the parents may be deeply emotionally and socially invested in cultural sheltered [Chandra] religious beliefs which cannot be shown to be true at any material level, and their parenting style involves a steady stream of guilt -based should injunctions rather than any sort of pragmatic Shani-based realistic understanding of human behavior.

Other figures who may obtain crisis-agency during Sade-Sati-9 include the spousal partner from a third marriage, any exponent of philosophical truth or theological belief, any spiritualistic guru-figure, any sort of preacher including promoters of exclusive ideologies, and "fundamentalist" parochial "patriotic" politicians who invoke scriptural quotations to prove their righteousness (religious politics = 5th-from-5th = 9).

Shani's work occupies all of one's Time. Emotional needs are ignored, disregarded, belittled. One may be unable to properly relate to elder siblings or friends due to the weight of the burden of regulating the social-economic network in order to ensure marketplace revenues.

Simultaneous drishti of Samchara Shani upon 7th from Chandra-11 impacts the marriage partner while one experiences a drying, hardening, limiting, cramping, or seizing of emotional resources.

Siblings are impacted due to drishti of Samchara Shani upon 3rd-from-Chandra; and the emotional energy needed to sustain leadership roles is also impacted due to drishti of Samchara Shani upon the emotionally dignified , social-ordering, leadership-seeking; 10th-from-Chandra.

Much effort is required to defend the public reputation [Shani]. The friends and elder sibling, feeling unimportant, may become temporarily alienated and depart. Personal goal-setting, social networking, and earnings schemes must be shelved until this seven-and-a-half year transit is complete.

However, overall, gochara Shani produces respectable and materially incremental results in bhava-10 and bhava-11. Generally, one must work a bit harder to earn the same financial income, and marketplace activities tend to stagnate [Shani]. One's habitual earnings behaviors may be subject forced adjustment due to economic (Shani 11) downturn or scarcity conditions.

Professor Shani's transit via labha bhava may slow progress toward earnings goals or other personal [Chandra] objectives, but the temporary separation from elder siblings or friends due to professional pressures is not unduly harmful unless conditions are exacerbated by the Vimshottari dasha timelord or multiple graha are oppressed by the Shani transit.

Sade-Sati-12 = temporary nisturabhasi yoga occurs in vyaya-Bhava-12

Samchara Shani contact Chandra in bhava-12

Generally, Sade-Sati in bhava-12 is isolating, and sleep-depriving. The identity may feel dissolved or one may feel invisible [12].

There can be temporary severe erosion of the physical vitality due to the demands of the dreamworld.

Temporary emotional separation from caring, sustaining, protective functions of interiority, sleep, contemplation, private spiritual guidance, sanctuary, hermitage, cloister, seclusion, distant worlds

  • may be an era of significant sleep deprivation

  • parents live in a distant land,

  • mother is sequestered in a sanctuary space

  • one has constructed a fantasy view of himself which one presents to the parents as reality (Shani will enforce genuine reality)

  • parents live in an insulated fantasy-world

  • parents are deceased and communicate to the native from the astral plane

  • there is a well-established meditation practice that has become (inadvertently) misleading due to fantasy emotions interfering with the neutrality of the meditational view

To feel secure, Chandra in bhava-12 typically needs inflow of inspirational imagery + outflow of visionary intuitive philosophy. Therefore, nao-flow gochara Shani-12's restrictions on soothing sleep-states can temporarily reduce Soma's sense of well-being.

However, while conventional gochara Shani encamps within bhava-12, expect 12-things to effectively remain the same for bureaucratic reasons or due to scarce resources.

On the upside, change-resistant Shani samchara in-12 can provide a relief from any aggressive challenges present in 12, such as unwanted actions from the father's mother, from the mother's father, or from the family of the immediate elder sibling. Prolonged research efforts may be exhausting but often produces a valuable result. Normalizing Shani gochara-via-12 prevents either bettering or worsening of sanctuaries. For these 2.3 years, everything and everyone in 12 benefits from eschewing innovation and simply following the rules. Strict Shani prevents creative alteration.

In the secluded, cloistered environment of bhava-12, extreme volatility does not generally develop during the 2.3-year regime of janma Sade-Sati.

In addition to the Sade-Sati impact upon natal Chandra-12, any further graha-in-12 may be individually affected by gochara Shanir.

on the plus side = ability to access previously untapped inner stamina

Structure of the learning experience typically involves some of these classic elements

  • Isolation
  • private anxiety about safety, security, sustenance
  • sleep deprivation
  • for 2.3 years (janma sade sati) the Usually, vivid imagination Chandra in bhava-12 = frozen by fear
  • nurturing-and-homekeeping (usually a joy) temporarily becomes a workload burden
  • heavy caretaking for elderly parent
  • parenting duties restrict movement, tighten the grip of the time-clock
  • must remain in sheltered enclosure for safety
  • imprisonment (voluntary or involuntary)
  • hospitalization for self or dependent
  • one must stay in hospital or dormitory as a patient or as the guardian of the patient
  • unavailable parents (or parents-in-law) withdraw their support
  • temporary but impressive nightmare conditions in a foreign land
  • physical exhaustion due to protecting others
  • social invisibility
  • private suffering due to lack of emotional support - yet may keep a brave public face

Emotional compression in the feet

sade-sati centered in bhava-12 may impact sleep, dreamworld, imagination, conceptual thought, theory, first principles, research, interior guidance, hallucination, hospitals, prisons (mental or physical) isolation, sacred enclosure,

  • mother who is living in distant lands
  • mother who is hospitalized
  • mother who has entered a sanctuary
  • mother who is deeply private
  • mother who is emotionally unavailable
  • mother who has become invisible (via physical decease, or via emotional disengagement, or via mental distancing)

Freezing of the flow emotional nourishment whilst steady effort is required to sustain one's privacy, personal imagination, access to sanctuary and spiritual retreat. Loss through funeral expenses and long journeys. Losses through getting lost.

  • In extreme cases, deportation from an adopted country, or imprisonment.

  • Emotional crisis due to animosity in marriage (12 = 6th-from-7th).

Most of the pressure is in the subconscious; it is less the effect of external material pressures and more the result of fantasies, imaginings, dreams, visions, and subconscious emotional [Chandra] expectations about the way things should be which conflicts with Shani's reality, the harsh material fact, what-is.

Simultaneous drishti of Samchara Shani upon 7th from Chandra-12 impacts the marriage partner while one experiences a drying, hardening, limiting, cramping, or seizing of emotional resources.

Shani gochara bhava-12 often limits the emotional permission to obtain adequate sleep.

Human beings are designed to dream for nearly eight hours in every day. This dreaming (or conscious meditation) is where one may hear the instructions from the ancestors which describe the next step.

Sade-Sati-12 can cause a person to feel [Chandra] as if one has no future, as if one's identity was entirely fabricated in the imagination and now it has been dissolved by realistic Shani. Lack of sleep, lack of reflective or meditative time - these are precursors to mental illness and must be acknowledged even while Shani-samchara-12 may be making it physically impossible to obtain sufficient sleep time.

If the underlying reason for the mental-emotional instability is not understood as temporary lack of sleep, one may become vulnerable to feeling listless, hopeless, identity-dissolved,"nothing to show for all that effort" or having"failed" expectations because the recharging, reminding, re-instruction that is delivered to us during sleep is temporarily not being received.

It is important to avoid psychological depression during Shani-gochara-12 by simply acknowledging the fact that, due to pre-incarnationally planned factors dictated by Shani, one is being deprived of sleep and due to workload realistically it is rarely if at all that one can schedule long periods of meditation or sanctuary retreat.

Therefore lowered expectations will anchor the mental-fields in feelings of failure or dissolution due to Shani-stoppage of intuition and inner-vision. One may be feeling [Chandra] ungrounded in one's next-step, feeling [Chandra] unsupported by a host of spirits who are watching and usually cheering us from the beyond.

Rest assured, the astral plane has not gone out of business! It is a pre-incarnationally planned requirement that Shani should curtail the imagination for short periods for purposes of astral housecleaning when too much fantasy has come to obscure the clear pragmatic mature view of reality.

The authentic next-step is available, but it cannot be generated by the emotionalized imagination. It must be mature, culturally neutral, realistic, and not influenced by the emotional projections of the parents [Chandra].

Sade-Sati occurring in bhava-12 may expose the dream-like world of the parental fantasies about their child (which are too much rooted in parallel lives , 12) and shatter their imaginary view of the world.

A severely unrealistic parent (for example, one institutionalized due to delusions) may be more severely impacted by the Sade-Sati-12, perhaps they may be restrained or contained by physically restrictive methods. However, this situation is rare.

Often the emotional need of the parents to recreate a child known from their parallel lives has blurred one' own ability to create a clear life-path in the present incarnation. Sade-Sati-12 is not generally too difficult so long as Professor Shani's realism, pragmatism, and maturity are acceptable to the native at one's present stage in the current lifetime.

If Shani is well-placed in the nativity, one may welcome the increased realism since it tends to clarify the distinction between fantasy and reality which boundary, in most cultures, is the very definition of mental health.

Sade-Sati-12 produces little harm to the parents except that they may lose some cherished fantasies. They tend to remain in their secure bubble of imaginary projections. The parents especially the mother who is represented by Chandra-12 is generally ensconced in a protective sanctuary of past-live memory and not fully engaged with the modern world. Ideally the mother is substantially engaged in prayer and reflection but Chandra-12 also allows for mentally ill or highly dissociated persons carrying on emotional relationships with imaginary beings.

In any case the caretaker-figure represented by Chandra-12 is not of this world and a mere 2.3 Shani transit will not likely transform them into a world-wise personality.

Rather, the main task is for the native who *is * living in this world to gain a much needed dose of realism about one's own motivation, to see clearly how the caretaker-figure's guilt -driven projections upon the native have pushed one into promoting an unrealistic self-image. Free from the weight of parental guilt one may then -- as Shani proceeds into identity-intensive bhava-1 -- take a mature, pragmatic next step into the material world.

Sade-Sati in Bhava-12 can be extremely demanding upon the mental and emotional health. Often one benefits from short-term psychotherapy and attending meditation retreats.

If you can schedule some therapeutic spa healings, the mind [Chandra] can be further calmed. Ayurvedic Panchakarma treatments can be wonderfully soothing to the ragged mind. But still, sade-Sati is a long haul especially in the most acute phase when gochara Shani enters the nakshatra of radical Chandra.

The most immediate stress release is simply to lower one's expectations - of others, and most importantly, of oneself.

There is usually not much forward movement professionally but it is possible to "tread water" and keep working on low wattage.

The focus is relentlessly interior for 2.3 years while Shani travels via shala-sthāna-12.

As with any conditions in bhava-12"the best puja is seva" .

Consider offering charitable service to those in a similar condition to oneself but in a slightly worse degree. Seva for those confined to hospitals, dormitories, monasteries, refugee camps, or prisons can be deeply satisfying as it helps burn off the karma of mental imprisonment in one's own imagination.
