Q: Namaste Barbara,

I am wondering if there is any sense in considering the days of the week (some astrologers ask to do remedial measures on certain days) in astrology since the calendar is a human construct. A calendar based on tithis and nakshatras makes more sense, though varying lengths of days are problematic there. The birth chart though it is also a construct, has the sky and stars on the framework of the houses. I guess the same thing applies to numerology as well?

A: I'm not sure how to respond to your question since it's more of an observation.

However, briefly:

Each of the seven classical planets has been assigned to a day of the week since time immemorial. I'm sure you're familiar with the social rejection that followed the 'rationalization' of the 7-day week into a more orderly 10-day week (to accompany the 10-base metric system for all measurements) during the French Republic. https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/French_Republican_Calendar

One of the reasons that this ambitious and elegantly logical program failed so dismally = a seven-day cycle is organic to the human time rhythms. Shani, agent of all things related to Time, orders time into seven sections.

Seven is big in the Bible, usually as the number of "completion after a great struggle" . For example, Joshua marched his tribe seven times around the mud walls of Jericho, and on the seventh day which was the seventh march he ordered the people to shout. The walls, already weakened by shaking, crumbled from the noise, and Joshua's tribe overran the city.

https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Battle_of_Jericho

Mystical literature of all the great religious traditions is surging with three's and seven's, for reasons that are quite innate to human consciousness.

Seven graha to seven weekdays is a very basic structure that makes a great deal of sense but as the French Republicans proved not intellectual sense - rather, intuitive sense.

Quod est inferius est sicut quod est superius, et quod est superius est sicut quod est inferius.

As above, so below.

Wishing you all best success, sincerely, bPL
